kinda funny how despite undertale being mega popular it's actually pretty lacking in the fan oc department. every fan character is just another alternate version of another character. no original monsters, maybe some original humans, but still it's so so sparse. kinda weird when you compare it to other similar fandoms of that era like sonic or mlp which were BRIMMING with ocs
for some reason artists calling their art âhuman-madeâ ironically feels weirdly kinda fucking dehumanizing
feels like an alien vendor disguising as a human and selling me wares trying not to be suspicious but he keeps putting emphasis on the âhumanâ aspects of his stuff so much it wraps around to being extremely suspicious again. does that make sense

crying at the contrast between this guy genuinely having some empathy for this poor youtuber i previously mentioned and the actual content he's putting out

dropped a whole paragraph about it in my mutualâs comments but half the people on this site who cry about lolcowing would probably be the first to perpetuate it and a lot of them do
you say lolcow and think someone whose bad take blew up and got a ton of negative attention. i say lolcow and think someone whoâs being actively manipulated by bad faith actors who got close to them for the sake of validating their harmful beliefs and behaviors. who tell them theyâre not doing anything wrong and anyone who says otherwise is just being hateful unlike them, their best friends. who lie and keep them from improving, because once they get better the game is over, thereâs no more shit to farm from their mouths. in recent memory iâve seen people be called lolcows because they received backlash for racism, or pedophilia, or rape apologia, and iâve seen a lot of defense for those actions by people who do the same. i donât think most of them fit the criteria of a lolcow but if they did, some of those defenders would be right up there âmanagingâ them
i remembered watching this video and finding its takes somewhat pretty reasonable and agreeable, hell even the comments were (previously) respectful about said takes too, and there were already a lot of videos like hers critiquing and discussing how genshin got "worse" (either gameplay-wise or story-wise), so there wasn't anything wrong with the video existing to me. and that was before a lot of genshin youtubers started making critique/hate response videos towards it FOR SOME REASON, and i knew there was something deeply off about all of them cuz i checked the channels of these "critiques" and it's nothing but playing the game and reviewing the meta and all that shit, so it's obvious that their opinions favored the game a lot more, and despite me not watching said "critique" videos i read the comments of them and they were also really fucking rancid, they kept calling the person behind that original video "misogynistic" for *checks notes* saying that excessive amounts of meaningless fanservice and sexualization in female characters that doesn't complement their personality or story sucks??? and saying that the male characters tend to be better off than the girls cuz there's less incentive to sexualize them for a male "incel" audience?????? oh and they call her racist for bringing up how sumeru and natlan had pretty questionable and even insensitive depictions of their real-world inspirations, which would make the game itself and the people making it racist, not her, but alas these people do not think. it makes me feel like the rest of the community is raging misogynists and not her, cuz it feels like another situation where a lot of male creators gang up on and harass a female creator for saying something a little "off"/put outside its original context (cough cough ILLYMATIONS cough cough) and looking at this from the outside it kinda looks like a bunch of chuds trashing on someone with a "tumblr" aesthetic just because she said something a little too Queer and Woke about their favorite sexy booby game for Men
you can tell something bad happened cuz this was not the top comment when i first watched the video
and in any other context this would've garnered 26 comments which would all be responses of "aww your sona is so cute đĽ°" but unfortunately instead the chuds found her
what does insulting the creator's character design have to do with her fucking genshin video. you're just looking for another Anita Sarkeesian for your own community to dogpile man
no joke this is probably the most amount of comments i ever disliked on a youtube video jesus fucking christ i am personally mailing this girl a death note so she can kill off every single one of these miserable unproductive wastes of oxygen who are singlehandedly trying to destroy her career before it even starts. none of the comments were like this when i watched the video. none. of. them.

having not played genshin impact yet still looking at critiques of the game's story tbh I feel like all of natlan's narrative issues would've been solved if their region's designated theme was "unity" instead of "war"
since the region is a bunch of distinct tribes sticking together, and they never really wage war with eachother and only with the forces of the abyss (which is something OTHER REGIONS are already doing), it kinda gave me the sense that they only thought of natlan being based on "war" early on in the game's life cycle, realized that making a region based on african/polynesian/mesoamerican/indigenous american cultures carry on the stereotype of "proud savage warriors" was REALLY fucking bad, then quickly backpedaled when designing the region as it is today, and that's why the theme of "war" feels weirdly kinda sauceless compared to the other regions' themes of "eternity" "justice" "contracts" etc. which would've been solved if it were a different theme entirely. unity feels like a stronger aspiration to strive for than war anyways. these tribes always stay together and fight together even in the most dire of straits, so it resonants a lot more. what do you guys think

artfight of @raggedy-starletâs Flo Treehugger. this was the second time i ever put a comedic depiction of cigarettes in an artfight piece. kid-show muppets and kush (do)nât mix
After 13 years of this, it's still funny to me that detailing a full mental breakdown on tumblr is standard fare, but posting a nice selfie is a fraught decision.
this is the correct way around and every other social media site is wrong
