This musical was heavily based on the 1992 film Bram Stoker’s Dracula which borrowed elements from Fred Saberhagen’s The Dracula Tape. So if it’s any comfort pretend Dracula faked his death and came back for Mina later.

I can only guess, but both of these series are highly acclaimed and praised by critics and public. So if they wanted a high-class analogy, here it is. High expectations, you know. In 24 he needs to protect the family, and House is somewhat of redemption story, so, according to the given description, this lame analogy works.
