underrated part of wolf hall book one is when cromwell brings gregory on his meeting to appeal to mary and subtly, then after realizing his son is not getting what hes putting down straight up tells him, "Be nice to this girl. Talk to her. Make her fall in love with you"

gregory then pulls an average gregory strat and ignores her for the entire dinner

finally wrapped wolf hall and now im internally going fuckk do I have to reread middle sections of the book because the gap of time between when I started reading the damn thing (winter 2024) to when I actually finished it (now, in big 2026) is so big I genuinely couldn't tell you what happened during certain sections in the interim
