Hey, female OP from the male witches are witches post. I just wanted to hear what your thoughts are on the matter in a way that wasn't confrontational.

Honestly, I understand that men are going to call themselves witches no matter what. The fact is though that every other religion deifies the male. Buddhism and Hinduism believe that if a woman is virtuous enough she could be reborn as a man, because women are incapable of reaching nirvana. Abrahamic religions have hated females since they were invented.

And then witchcraft exists worshiping and glorifying the female power to create life! Women are the world! I’m not literally the cause of humanity’s greatest evils, I’m built in the image of the goddess herself!

And then men want it. It’s not enough they have not one but every other established religion on earth for them to have their egos stroked by the God they made in their image. Now they want ours too.

And dudette idk if you’ve seen what happens when you tell a man no but being able to do so behind the safety of a computer screen is Entertaining. Literally just “this is our thing. you pushed us away from God for centuries and now we have this and we’re happy.” is enough to get you literal death threats from men who think that being denied something is actual violence and women who think their only path to salvation is through men.

I would like to add some perspective as well if i may. Witch has a derogatory component as well. One that is never levaled aginst men. (To degrade a man we generally tell them they are or are like women in some way and that in and of itself should be telling). From a perspective of a dianic witch (thats femalen exclusive witchcraft) it is absolutely my right to worship, circle, and spell only with other women. I am preserveing the womens mysteries handed down from mother to daughter and they are things that only women can truely understand and utilize (many dont want too or are creeped out by the miracles of their own bodys. But thats not my judgement to make only to insure that this particular gnosis is still available for them if they need it.) People have been foaming at the mouth for decades over womens witchraft spreading all kinds of rumors. I have been present and practiceing for two of those decades. I have been called unhinged and unbalanced and every name in the book. I do not consider males to be witches. Its not gatekeeping because men never really listen to women and certainly dont like us to have anything to do without them. Even going so far as to attempt to pit women aginst one another. Being able to come together ritually with sisters has opened my eyes to the glory of female friendship. Call it whatever you want i have been enlightened.

That was one of my main issues, the term witch has been used for centuries as a derogatory term against women.

It was used for a whole heap of reasons, her not getting pregnant, being ugly, her getting pregnant after years of not being, her being too pretty etc. Women being women got them called witch and burned.

I was called witch (and many other derogatory to females words) because I didn’t let a man harm me.

My friends were called witches because they said no to men.

My sisters were abused for being witches and driven out of town

My fore sisters were murdered for being a witch because they were women.

My fore sisters were murdered by men, and I have no sympathy now that they want in.

My ancestors did not see that just for me to let our abusers into witchcraft.

I love art that represents women’s vulva.

I have recently visited the Carnarvon gorge in Australia, where the Bidjara and Karingbal people sculpted hundreds of vulvas on the rock.

Below is the little piece of interpretive information that was available on site:

A woman’s story

Women are responsible for looking after some of the stories etched along this section of the sandstone wall—women’s business.

You will see engraved over and over again the motif of the human vulva. Our Elders tell the story of this design being a fertility symbol.

Important ceremonies and rituals associated with these engravings, were performed here in the Carnarvons by women.
