Hello friends.
Today I was talking to my parents and I just had to sit with some new revelations about the current economy that honestly terrified me. I feel like just saying the percentage of the inflation is making it hard for everyone to realise the almost dystopian crisis the people in Iran are going through.
A single bag of chips is now 120,000 toman.
The fruit we bought 7 months ago for less than 100,000 per KG is now over 400,000 per KG. Literally paying 4 times more for the exact same amount of produce.
I see people posting their recipt from grocery stores—the totals are through the roof. People keep saying their monthly salaries are not enough to get them through the month and it's gone in the first couple of days in the month.
This is only the financial situation. Sharia law is going strong. Islamic republic's goons are walking around and freely harrassing and abusing women who choose not to wear the hijab.
Do you remember all the hijabless women reporting from IRGC support rallies, talking about how women had freedom to choose what they want to wear? Yeah a fucking lie.
On top of all this, the country is in fucking shambles. The government's mishandling of resources brought us here: dried-up rivers and lakes, electricity out for hours every day even in 50 degrees weather, dust stroms, water outage... you name it, we have it.
I am terrified for the future of my people if we have any to consider that is.
RIP Marjane Satrapi, author of the amazing graphic novels Persepolis about living during the fundamentalist revolution in Iran in the 70’s and 80’s. She also created the animated movie based on the graphic novels, which is where these gifs come from.

We read Persepolis, and watched the adaptation, in the 10th grade, and it's stayed with me ever since. I'm eternally in awe of Marjane Satrapi's bravery and resilience, and may she rest in peace.

The recent punishment of a Canadian physician for offering too-casual deaths under MAID is a dark window into a growing death culture.
"The website RateMD contains mixed reviews for MacLean, with many offering praise for his compassion and professional expertise. But another review describes him performing euthanasia procedures while wearing jeans and a “casual shirt,” with a nurse who was “wearing tight yoga pants and a tight t shirt.” (“The nurse stood there texting on her phone with a smile on her face as my son was dying. As soon as his heart stopped they couldn’t wait to get out.”)
Another review opens like this: “Dr. James MacLean may seem charming but so is Satan.”
Canadian doctors and health law scholars have warned for years that MAID keeps expanding, evading checks and balances. For clarity, this paragraph, from a 2023 paper in a medical journal, is quoted with parenthetical citations removed:
Since its legalization in 2016, the number of deaths by MAiD in Canada has risen dramatically each year. Within 3 years of its introduction, 2% of all deaths in Canada were by MAiD, and by 2021, MAiD had increased to 3.3% of all deaths in Canada. Some areas of Canada presently are reporting MAiD death rates upwards of 7%. In 2021, Canada had 10,064 deaths by MAiD, surpassing all other countries for yearly reported assisted deaths.
That same paper describes a long series of questionable MAID deaths, including a man euthanized for a “hearing and cognitive disability” with “recurrent episodes of depression” and a woman who received MAID after a concussion. Death is also being suggested as an option to people who require ongoing medical services: “A military veteran and former Paralympian who has been trying to get a wheelchair ramp installed at her home for the past 5 years testified that she was offered MAiD by her caseworker.”
You can read national guidelines for MAID here. Don’t miss sentences like this one on page 7: “There is debate about whether to consider a request for MAID as a form [of] suicidal ideation.”"
Apparently moids in canada are getting their wives fast tracked for euthanasia within 24 hours just by claiming "caregiver burnout".
I bet the same thing happens in Belgium and Netherlands too.
Make sure no man can make any health decisions on your behalf if you live anywhere with euthanasia laws. Because you are one health issue away from being murdered and he will never answer for it.
Femicide
Nothing in Iran is normal!
While regime propaganda is trying to normalize the situation in Iran and pretend like the mandatory hijab is gone , Islamic republic is still murdering Iranian women for not wearing hijab
Recently regime forces shot and killed Mojgan Hassanpour, a 45 year old mother for not wearing hijab
Don’t let the regime silence Iranian voices
