I'm 40 today and still can't quite believe I got to this age in one piece haha.

I was bit pissed off because I should be out with friends.

But then I realised that no one is going to have be having parties this year.

I switched on my computer a few weeks ago and saw something that every computer user from programmers, to gamers, to hackers, and yes even the lesser spotted author fears...

DEAD PIXELS!!! den den DERRRRR!!!

I tried to ride it out as it was only a small area, was contained and wouldn't affect my quest to bring you, the lovely readers, quality horror goodness. But then, it spread. More pixels were dying at a horrendous.

So I ordered a new screen.

It arrive a few days later and was welcomed into my home like Frodo and Sam on their return to Hobbiton. There were no tears though...ok there may have been a few tears.

I got on the intnet and watched a few videos on YouTube on the exact procedure for extraction and correct replacement of said screen.

And, are you ready?

This is awesome.

Will I fit a new laptop screen in time?

I'm on page 106 of 172 with 88017 words written within those pages and it is now that my screen has decided that it is going to die.

Luckily I have all my work backed up onto pen drives and Dropbox.

There are two patches of dead and stuck pixels. One towards the lower left corner but other is just to the upper right of the centre. They are getting bigger every day. I have just switched off my laptop and I don't know what state it will be in tomorrow.

As a precaution I have ordered a new screen that will be delivered between the 25th and 29th April with the intent of fixing it myself...but will it arrive before the old screen kicks of it shoes and goes in for the long sleep?
