I think when I was a kid I was so blinded by how cool Emmy’s karate skills and can-do attitude were to notice that she can be genuinely socially inept sometimes. Homegirl tried to use someone’s deadbeat dad to segue into asking about the black market. “Yeah, my dad left for milk one day and never came back” “Man, that’s too bad…do you think he went to get milk at the black market?”

He doesn’t recall either of the boy’s parents talking about avian lineage, but Hershel is cognizant of the presenting symptoms. The professor had assumed, perhaps erroneously, that Luke’s parents knew what was coming and that they’d informed the boy of what was in store for him. Avian presentation was difficult, or so Randall and Claire had recounted, but Luke was a strong boy.

Hear me out: Flora and Arianna Barde are friends and pen pals.

They have somewhat similar background stories (influential background but orphaned at a young age, grew up mostly isolated from other humans from that point onwards) so I think they can relate to each other more in the odd way they grew up than to anyone else. Flora would like hearing about Mysthallery because it's full of gossip and oddities but also close to St Mystere (though more... alive, if you will) and Arianna would like hearing about any place other than Misthallery because she rarely ever leaves.
