due to tragic bullshit happening in my life and then after that my lifestyle changing as a result (though im admittedly better off now than i was before) i dont really have time for rping and also kinda.. came to the realisation that rping is too stressful for me(im too much of a perfectionist i just want all my replies to be perfect), i think im gonna retire from rping indefinitely

however i still constantly think about silver and shit regardless of that, why am i so interested in this fictional character that ive been obsessed with for years, why even. not to mention i think about jon a lot too, but thats a whole different topic...

For some reason Silver hadn't anticipated Dave following him to the table, though in hindsight it was pretty inevitable. Once the guy got on a train of thought he kept going long after the train had reached the end of the tracks, or something. He was seriously losing his mind being around this kid (not that he could exactly call Dave a kid). It didn't help that Dave launched into another brain-to-mouth rant which stopped any thoughts Silver had cold.

He didn't have any clue what to say or think and stared stupidly for a moment. Then he tried to save face by glaring.

"I... Dave. No. We're fucking cousins." Shit, that was bad wording, he tried not to wince and blamed it on Dave. "Just stop already."

He opened his sandwich to distract himself and took a bite, forgetting that it was possibly the messiest thing to eat in the world and getting the sauce all over his hands. And he'd forgotten to get napkins. Dammit Dave. Now he had to either admit defeat and go get napkins or try to solve the problem himself. And considering he was sitting opposite of the self-proclaimed coolest kid in the world he knew which option to take.

So he tried to save face by resuming the conversation as if nothing had happened. "...yeah, I did set it up." He wasn't sure what else to say, considering the situation and how he definitely did not want to thank Dave after everything, even though he did appreciate the gift. Getting a new game system was great but since it was Dave he had to thank he'd rather avoid it. He avoided saying anything else by taking another bite, being more careful this time to not get ridiculously messy.

hanging out with silver is never exactly a bad thing but then again nor is it anything exhilarating. you settle for a comfortable middle, the centre of the couch where you are neither too far left away from the tv or too far right, away from the coaster and your chilled beverage. dead middle. that’s exactly what being near the red-haired animal-freak is like. you wonder about those animals now, whether silver is still obsessed with freaky looking weasel-cats and lizards that probably belong in a zoo or on the shelf of some crocodile dundee wannabe. it’s a good thing he didn’t bring them into subway though. this aint no doctor dolittle show.

Where in the fuck does this guy get his metaphors. Silver finds himself regretting stepping in the restaurant at all as he's forced to listen to Dave ramble on and on.

Honestly the metaphor made him uncomfortable, not just because of the content, but because he was related to the guy. How did he end up being related to the Striders again? And what was the chance he'd run into his cousin in a Subway? It was like a family sitcom in here, something right off the tv. New episode this Wednesday.

God, now he was starting to think like Dave.

He pulls a face and reaches into his pocket on impulse, freeing two dollars and holding it out in the general direction.

"Here. Pay for your drink. I shouldn't have gotten in line or whatever." He hadn't even meant to apologize or admit that he actually felt bad now for being so snippy for no reason, but there it was. Maybe Dave's habit of running his mouth was rubbing off. Silver made an effort to not look at his cousin and instead paid for his sandwich, stepping away to go find a seat.
