Prinna Genevieve Fontaine (@prinnagene), born March 8, 520 PLNR, is an eighteen-year-old seaborn girl living in Delphinus, Adamas.  The Fontaine family leads a quiet life, operating a small travel agency in Aquaregia, an above-ground hub on the nearby Isle of Alla. Prinna can't wait to begin classes at Cavillier – her uni years are her long awaited opportunity to see the rest of The Four Planes. Prinna is excited to major in environmental studies with a minor in alchemy.

The Republic of Adamas

Welcome to the Republic of Adamas, your island getaway from all your extraplanar troubles!  Located just to the left of Celestia, life is easy in our sanctuary — far from the stuffy history of Farrago and isolated from the hustle and bustle of Celestia, your time in Adamas is your opportunity to kick back and enjoy a moment of quiet thought.  The isle of Alla is likely where you’ll spend the majority of your stay.  A meeting place for those of any alignment, it’s located just above our undersea capital of Delphinus.  Around its coast, resorts like the luxurious Ĉielo can be found, each one tailored to the needs of your alignment.   Ensure you visit our natural wonders — Luno Beach is the most famous, naturally.  Its historical significance as the location of the peace treaty between the Confederacy and Celestia is not to be understated, nor is its beauty — at night it truly does “glimmer as the argent moon,” as Queen Cynthia once wrote.  The cloud forest of Cinnabar is less famous, but not to be missed — the mist rising in the blue morning, the gold of the sun cutting through the fog, the green of our beloved trees — it’s a sight to behold.   Do some shopping in the bustling town of Aquaregia!  The only abovesea city in Adamas, it’s home to our largest mall, lush botanical gardens, and several historic art museums. 

There’s so much to do and see — check out folks like @luv-luba and @prinnagene, whose families have long made a habit of welcoming outsiders to our fair isle!

The Confederacy of Abyssal States

planarposting is a blog-based ARG set in a modern-fantasy world.

The Abyssal Confederacy

Little is known about the Confederacy of Abyssal States.  Located between the Kingdom of Farrago and the Republic of Adamas, its expansionist tendencies were the core conflict of the Planar War.   Travel and trade with the Plane of Fire is extremely limited — the only city ever opened to outsiders is Canto, its capitol.  Home to the Abyssal Lord and several high-ranking politicians and public figures, it’s the most glamour and luxury the plane has to offer — designed for those aligned to any element, skyborn may fly overhead as seaborn surf through fire-lined canals.   Life outside the capitol is the subject of much speculation and debate — despite the government’s alleged “careful allocation” of resources, it seems evident that more resources flow into the capitol than out.  If the Abyssal Lord and his cabinet were more willing to accept trade and assistance from the other planes, much could be done to improve the lives of ordinary citizens.  Alas…

Elijah Tate Napier

planarposting is a blog-based ARG set in a modern-fantasy world.

Elijah “Eli” Tate Napier (@dogboyeli), born August 28, 520 PLNR (556 ABYS), is a seventeen-year-old earthborn boy living in Canto, Abyss.  Eli has worked up quite the reputation in his borough of Canto’s as a lovable rascal.  He’s a great role model to his two younger brothers, helpful around the house for his parents, and always ready to lend a hand to a neighbor in need.  Attending Cavillier might be the first thing Eli’s done for himself in a long time.  At the Academy, he’ll major in computer science and minor in alchemy.

Julia Laurel Renaud

planarposting is a blog-based ARG set in a modern-fantasy world.

Julia “Jules” Laurel Renaud (@redrunnr), born January 28, 520 PLNR (555 ABYS), is an eighteen-year-old skyborn girl living in Canto, Abyss.  Jules often finds herself in the company of her many cousins, as her skyborn mother is busy with her duties as the Celestial ambassador to the Abyss, and her sparkborn father, heir to the Renaud name, spends his time managing the family estate and fortune.  Cavillier Academy is the next steppingstone in her goal to live up to the family name—one she considers her highest, proudest duty.  As such, she intends to leap into the new year with all the confidence of a skyborn and all the power of a sparkborn.  As a Renaud, both are, after all, her birthright.  Majoring in alchemy and political science, along with minoring in history, is sure to keep Julia busy.

Zeake Maxim Davenport

Zeake Maxim Davenport (@maximfit), born October 29, 519 PLNR, is an eighteen-year-old earthborn boy living in Real Arĝento, Farrago.  The Davenport family all but has a monopoly on interplanar trade in The Four Places, and Zeake has been groomed his entire life to assume charge of Davenport Shipping.  When he isn’t in the office, you’ll either find Zeake at the gym, or with his nose in a book at his favorite coffee house “Real Roasted” in downtown. At Cavillier, Zeake will major in business.

Valorie Isolde Carnelian

planarposting is a blog-based ARG set in a modern-fantasy world.

Valorie Isoldev Carnelian (@isoldeva), born December 2, 519 PLNR (555 ABYS), is a eighteen-year-old girl living in Real Arĝento, Farrago.  Val comes from a long line of earthborn.  It’s their—and her—greatest shame that her own alignment has yet to reveal itself.  Often found with her head in a book or seated at her family’s piano, she’s looking forward to the change of scenery and extra space Cavillier will bring.  Even if it’s right down the road, she thinks it’s just the change she needs.  Despite her lack of elemental alignment, Valorie remains firm in her plans to major in alchemy at the Academy—even if it will make the already rigorous coursework even more difficult.

Visit the Kingdom of Farrago — grounded in tradition, founded in myth.

Welcome to the Kingdom of Farrago, eldest of the four planes!  Located between the Commonwealth of Celestia and the Confederacy of Abyssal States, Farrago has been able to maintain both its distinct cultural identity and its strong alliances with the Upper Planes.  All are welcome to share in our proud traditions — what defines our people most of all are our stories, and those are to be shared with any that will listen.   Our capital, Real Arĝento, is a city caught between two eras. The Upper City was once a walled fortress, the oldest in the four planes.  Its winding streets are too narrow for anything but pedestrians — but by lanternlight one can find themselves transported to the mythic past of Farrago’s founding, a time of dashing heroes and wise queens.  Several notable locations in the Upper City include the Royal Palace of Villier, Cavillier Academy’s library and archives, and the Arjuine Tower!  The New City is a more modern town — take the funicular down and see the stunning Argent Botanical Gardens.  The beating heart of the New City is, of course, the Cavillier Academy’s campus.  The premier university in the four realms, Cavillier brings together students from all walks of life!   Step just outside the city to see the rolling hills and sprawling farms of Farrago’s countryside!  As the primary producer of food for the Upper Planes, Farrago has perfected our agricultural techniques, integrating them seamlessly into the land.  Come see our quaint villages and ancient estates!

Nico Tiberius Curzón

Nico Tiberius Curzón (@nicurazon), born March 31, 520 PLNR, is an eighteen-year-old boy living in Rhea, Celestia.  The youngest of three brothers, Nico has it easy as third-in-line to the Curzón title.  Even his sparkborn nature can’t get him down thanks to the wings he and his brothers were miraculously born with.  Nico spends his time attending classes and society functions with his best friend Jamie Ambrose, and will take off to Cavillier Academy with him in the fall.  Nico is set to study economics with a minor in political science and history.

Jamie Quinn Ambrose (@ambroro), born September 29, 519 PLNR, is an eighteen-year-old skyborn boy living in Rhea, Celestia.  Jamie’s life as the heir to his father’s fortune has been a whirlwind of galas, fundraisers, and private tutoring, mostly attended alongside his best friend Nico Curzón.  Come fall, Jamie will be double-majoring in economics and history to prepare him for his future as head of the Ambrose dynasty.  For himself, though, he’s elected to minor in alchemy, and hopes to cultivate impressive talent while at Cavillier.

Penelope “Penji” Muriel Stratford (@silji), born January 11, 520 PLNR, is an eighteen-year-old earthborn girl living in Orsino, Celestia.  Living with her fathers, Penji can usually be found in her small greenhouse, making magnificent flora sprout even in the dark underbelly of Celestia’s capitol city.  She is excited to begin classes at Cavillier Academy.  Accepted on scholarship, Penji plans to take difficult courses in alchemy and political science to keep her place at the prestigious university.

Visit the Commonwealth of Celestia — the easy, breezy, bustling city in the heart of it all!  

Welcome to the Commonwealth of Celestia, the bustling trading hub of the four planes.  Located between the Kingdom of Farrago and the Republic of Adamas, it’s both the best defended and most central of the Upper Planes.  With that central location also comes multiculturalism — earthborn, seaborn, and (naturally) skyborn are found in great numbers, and our central planning committee has designed our cities to be accessible for all their denizens, regardless of inborn alignment.   Rhea, our capital, is full of wonderful places to visit.  See our thrilling art-deco inspired high-rises, our state-of-the-art theaters, and our legendary parks where you can frolic on cloudtop!  Enjoy the gorgeous gothic architecture of our parliament building, whose majestic edifice rises from the mist in the east with the sun each morning.  In its shadow sits Orsino, the moody city cast in Rhea’s clouds.  Affordable and cozy, Orsino is host to a unique temperate rainforest of bioluminescent flora, cultivated to flourish in our sunless suburb.

Announcing... planarposting

Divided amongst four distinct elements, the four planes can only be united by talented alchemists.  Too bad our students are still in training! 

Inspired by media like The Illuminae Files, Ouran HS Host Club, and Fullmetal Alchemist, planarposting is an ARG-adjacent blog-based narrative.  Through several student blogs, the politics and identities shaping an elite university are explored in a modern-fantasy world.  At its heart are themes of storytelling, grief, and the power of transformation.
