About me:

Hello my friend. My name is Marvin Kufuor, but from now on you can call me the Plantainpapa :P, no wait, seriously! I looove plantains, platanos, Kochbananen or whatever you want to call them. By the way, I'm from Berlin, the coolest city in the world(but I'm a little biased).

I don't really remember when I first ate plantains, probably was a little kid, since my father is from Ghana, where they are a staple food. But I really started messing with them was while I was in college in Kassel, Germany. I read about a study (http://www.webmd.com/ibd-crohns-disease/crohns-disease/news/20100825/broccoli-plantains-help-block-crohns-disease) that says that it helps with Crohn's Disease (yea I got that :/ but whatever). Ever since then they have been a major part of my life. I started cooking with them once in a while, but now it seems like there is not a day on which I don't eat platanos.

That means plantains every damn day!

I started simple by frying them in a pan, like they are prepared mostly. But bit by bit I found out about new recipes and ways to prepared them. In my little community I became the plantain expert and introduced many friends to plantains. Those who already knew about them learned new ways to make them, with the pancakes being by far the most popular. Now I know a couple recipes.
