Ok, so I drew more than one face on 7 days in the past month, and there were a few days when I drew one "from imagination". These are best-of, ones that I think are the most recognisable, ones that I like best our of the ones I drew. Newest to oldest. Full pages have been posted as well.
The ones on the left are OK as generic female-ish face, but the only one that I think may be somewhat recognisable is the one on the right.
The front view didn't work out in this one at all. The first attempt (upper right) was way too wide with eyes too far apart. The second attempt (lower left) was a bit better, but still not particularly recognisable.
The front-view one isn't too bad. The rest... less so.
These are all... I'm not really happy with either of them. I wish I could figure out why the side-view ends up kinda squashed.
I picked up a blue pencil to draw the guidelines, I'm not sure if it works well in this context. I've done this before, with some success. Maybe I need to warm up to it?

The front view isn't too horrible, but everything else... That eye in the lower-right will haunt me, so will the jaw in the lower-left.
I like the upper right one best, but the resemblance to the characters is pretty much non-existent!
I don't think any of these actually resemble the character, but for some reason I like the one at the bottom best.
I think I like the one on the upper left best, maybe the proportions are the best out of the lot?

I think I got better with profile shots, as with everything, it's the matter of getting the proportions right.
The 3/4 view, that I can't figure out. It's a mix of the jaw line and perspective, and I'm not even sure how to make things better. Suggestions welcome.
I found this course by Marc Brunet on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lntF8VdKx8I and decided to give it a shot.
I think the course relies on digital drawing and doing one example per day, but I decided to fill the pages with various takes.
It did help with proportions and such, although line-art is still a bit questionable.
I dug out my old tablet. It's really weird drawing when looking at the screen in front of me, but I guess it's a matter of practice. I think I like Krita's pressure more than Procreate's, it feels a bit more natural.
