not asking this with any mean or judgy intentions, just curiosity - what is the appeal of murder drones for you? asking as someone who recently watched it with a friend and walked away with a *lot* of confusion and questions. i really think i would’ve liked it better if it had been less choppy and unclear in its execution

LMAO HONESTLY GOOD QUESTION. the writing is horribly choppy and loaded by like. someone who ate tvtropes for breakfast for a decade. the plot is so hard to follow I had to watch it like. three times before I got it and theres so many bits and pieces that I STILL didn't pick up until I read other peoples posts about it. Also vickers please choose a better title.

It's like RWBY making it prime grounds for teenagers to make OCs in the setting with its loose worldbuilding that's more interesting if you get funky with it. I was a mega RWBY fan back in the day but like the season 2 era longfics were better written than the actual show.

I actually can't stand N as a character lmao. like not as much as how much I hate Jaune Arc's whiteboy ass but N is like plain white bread to me. But the rest of murder drones is stupid (affectionate) in the fun way

it's a show for if you were an edgelord nightcore emo on tumblr in 2009. The appeal of murder drones to me is that the fight scenes and music is fun and there is a cast of deranged women. literally that's it. I only care about the girls being silly little meatmech vampires and killing eachother in yuris. that's it. Uzi and V biting eachother. Lizzy's fascination with girls that can kill her. Cyn being a little freak. basement hick deer milf Alice cutting off Uzi's fingers. I guess J's whole infatuation with tessa too. toxic yuriiiiiii

I AM HERE FOR THE NONEXISTENT YURI CRUMBS AND SET DRESSING TO SLAP THE ROBOT BLORBO WOMEN TOGETHER AND SPILL OIL ALL OVER THE PLACE. THAT'S IT. its fun because its stupid. play the soundtrack and let V rip peoples heads off. I love when she crawls on the ceiling. I also love when uzi does that little giggle and kills everyone then pukes and cries about it. go emo girl go. girls who eat people are the funniest people in the world.

also I like the fanart and the specbio and worldbuilding ppl do. check out these cool fics like a very creaturey take on things or Pilot AU (not its actual name) and things by @ banyanas (who also writes like the coolest Amphibia docs ever) or like The Brightest Candle Burns The Quickest (very yuriful) by graptolite.

TLDR: I was an emo edgelord on deviantart and tumblr in 2009 and murderdrones captures that online aesthetic and provides a little kit of deranged girls to slap together for violent yuri but I'm kitbashing it myself since theres only like 5 second increments in the actual show.

something that i think about a lot is that nyad and nya both merged with the sea - not separate parts of the sea, the whole sea, together.

so, when the ninja froze nya in order to de-merge her in crystallised, how would they know that the being they were trying to resurrect was nya? how would they know if a few drops of saltwater belonging to nyad weren’t clinging to nya’s form, and weren’t brought back with nya? how would they know that the being they were seeing was nya, wholly and truly nya, with no influence of the woman who also inhabited the ocean?

no, there’s no way they could’ve known.

and so there’s a chance they could’ve brought back both spirits. nyad and nya controlled the same body (of water) at the same time; why would that change when they got brought back?

when the water of nya’s body returns to flesh, when the staff has absorbed her power, jay runs over to his yang. he looks into the eyes he’s only been able to see in his dreams for a year, and they’re unfamiliar. they’re a mix of nya’s normal grey and a blue too vivid to seem human - a mix of nya and nyad, the two spirits who sacrificed their lives and shared the body of the ocean, and who will continue to bear the sacrifice by sharing their human body instead.
