Sunflower
I told you about my favourite flower,
a sunflower
Its colours light up a room, it holds memories so dear to me
it’ll never fail to make me smile, the sight alone fills my every pore with joy
And yet it dies.
The petals wilt in misery, it lowers its head in shame
Gone is its brilliant radiance, now it’s old and dry
but so are my memories with it.
I can only remember vaguely, those days of laughter and shine.
When the sun bathed us in warmth and we ran until it kissed us goodnight
I should be filled with misery and mourn, that the days of young have have gone
But i can’t help but feel joy among the sorrow
For when i buy another baquet, i know that they will wilt and die
But just as i live now, so will they, even if just for another day.
