Here you can find Game recommendations and reviews, trailer peeks, and general gaming rambles!
I'll mostly review or look at games available to play on Pc.
I want to create a cozy and Calm atmosphere where we can come togheter and discuss games.
About me: I'm a young adult from Europe and have been gaming for about 5 years now.Its one of my biggest hobbies and I hope to share my love for this medium.
I've never been able to agree with the "give halo studios/343 needs another chance" angle because their games have mostly been...fine. Not perfect, and every game since 4 has annoyed me in some small way, but fine.
As far as I know, Halo studios has always critically and commercially succeded in their projects, regardless of cancelations and disfunction. Halo may not be doing as well as it did in 2007, but I don't think that's due to any particular decisions so much as gamers interests shifting away from Halo's gameplay, which with few exceptions has been mostly the same since 2.
In my opinion, people want to be 14 again. And no game can deliver on that.
It's a cute game with Cyberpunk visuals about a cat trying to get back to his friends.
From a cat which looks adorable to the city that just draws me in,the game looks and feels very real.
Gameplay
Puzzle adventure with exploration, but a story driven game.
I have played Stray on a keyboard.Despite the game at the start telling you that the game is designed for a gamepad or controller,i never had any problems with a keyboard. I never had a moment where I thought a controller was better either.
You control a Orange cat (our Stray),and have to jump, weave and solve puzzles to advance in the story.
There are a lot of things you can do for no reason other than you being a cat: Sleep, drink, meow (though meowing has some useful moments) and Claw at something like a cat tree.
Overall is the gameplay smooth, but imo,not the main focus.
Story & Writing
Here's where I think the main focus lies.Stray is about the Cat falling down into the city. You will be lead to our companion,B12,who helps you solve puzzles and translate the (confusingly named) companion robots.Over the course of the story, you have to help them, since many of them also want to get to the surface. You learn secrets about the companions,B12,the world and the city through our little drone friend.
The chapters are sometimes very short and I wish we had more time to explore, and generally I have a lot of questions still unanswered.
Atmosphere
Replayability
Emotional.Every Chapter has a new atmosphere; at first, when you fall,it's overwhelming, new and a bit frightening, then it's calm and hopeful, then it's determined and focused.
The Game does a great job at weaving one emotional beat to the next; it never feels abrupt, though I do sometimes wish we had a more of a 'red line' to go through all the chapters.
I think it's pretty Okey.Once you got all the Memories and discovered all the secrets, you're not gonna come back unless it's for the vibes.(Which I do.) The game is easy to pick up and for me, something to play when I'm in a blockade, tired or just in need of some fluffy meowing shenanigans.
Overall
A good game with a great emotional resonance,Stray Absoutly was worth my time again and again.
It's a solid game I would recommend to anyone who loves emotion over gameplay or cute cats with a bit of a aesthetic to boot.
I'm gonna talk about the MCC for a moment, but this is more of a Ramble than a Review.
Will also get personal.
The MCC - Master Chief collection - is a collection of 6 older games in the Halo franchise.
Ce,2,3,3:Odst,4 and Odst.
For the price it's really solid and 343 still pays attention to it.
I remember scrubbing half a day in our bathroom to get the money.Since then I'm now on a mission to beat all the games on heroic.
The game is solid. It comes with the original and Anniversary grapics of CE and 2 - even if I'm not quite happy with the decision to trigger it by a button only :/
Still, this collection is worth.Halo stayed a great shooter over years and this collection shows it.
I will write a proper review - or series of reviews for every game - someday, hopefully sooner than later.
A date with death follows you over the course of seven days in a bet with the grim reaper, with the prize being your life.
Let's take a closer look.
First impression
The Game has , surprising to me,a character Creator. Its pretty in depth and dosent impact the story, but it does add a touch when you can play with a character you made in a room You decorated. The UI is absolutely instantly intuitive and the first day is intriguing.
Gameplay
There's not much to say here. Its a visual novel,so you're in a constant dialogue and must choose dialogue options.Based on these, you get a different ending. There's also other things to do ,but none of them are necessary.
Story & Writing
Very good. Its actually a story with layers. Its not insanely deep, but I have given it a few playthroughs for different endings and choosing different options gives you more information about the world. Its not that you get forced every information there is.The dialogue is natural and rarely feels forced.
Most of the world building is in the dlc options, however.
Atmosphere
Calm,Cozy and very Warm. The Atmosphere is created by you chatting with the grim reaper, and while he's trying to be serious or edgy, you can choose many different things to say / do.
Replay ability
Yes-ish.With the dlc,the game has 9 endings,so that's how many times I played through it.After that, you kind of have nothing or only little to revisit (which I don't mind).
Overall
A free game with a optional (paid) dlc on steam and Itch.Io,it's a game I had a lot of fun with and actually got emotional. Its short (1 playthrough takes me around 2 hours) ,sweet and crafted with love.
I recommend this game especially cause it's free and short. For people who love dating Sims, Visual Novels or just want to wind down,it's a choice that's definitely worth a look.
Especially if you’ve got a few moments to spare chatting with Death—he’s lonely :3
