> the cemetery is quiet tonight; you savor this time spent on your own. just you, and the necropolis. until...
> a friendly ghost appears to you. it looks a bit shy, pale face hidden behind a curtain of blonde bangs.
> it beckons, and you follow it. you arrive at a small grave stone, easily overlooked, covered in moss and lichen.
> there is a small notch in the rock... and when you peer in you can see there's something inside, protected from the elements for gods know how long.
// WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO NOW??
>>> [STICK YOUR HAND IN]
>>> [POLITELY SAY GOODBYE]
> the edge of something soft touches your fingertips. the ghost wrings her hands and silently watches as you do so, but makes no move to stop you.
> you pull out a small book. it is bound in a brown leather cover and the pages are water stained but intact. you flip carefully through the pages and find them filled with written notes, old photographs, and ephemera from before your time.
> the attribution on the end pages matches the details on the headstone.
i started a new ink swatch book, this time in a rebound signature of the kleid × life A5 notebook, with white pages and a 2mm grid. its fascinating to me how some colours are affected so heavily by the grid and others barely care. speaking of, the ink labeled 280 is actually 252, sorry. also its been overcast so the lighting is awful, hopefully i can take better photos tomorrow? i just wanted to post something
ive been a little absent again, my boiler broke and got water all over my flat, i had to give up on making the video that was crashing my laptop, i have a newish health issue (there's always more it never ends) and just generally still have a lot on my plate that i can't do anything about... maybe i will try to decide on consistent days to make posts?
Stickered up my filofax covers! there was a minor scratch on the red cover and it was driving me mad so I thought one sticker would be enough to cover it and then this happened lol. Which one is your favorite? Mine is the back of the black cover.
Hello friends - i have created and uploaded my first youtube video!
It is a small day-in-my-life archive type video, plus talking about my hobonichi cousin and my journaling, and a 20-ish minutes journal-with-me section with no talking or music :)
I hope you will check it out if that sounds interesting! <3
went out with my family today and these are the only pictures i took. oh well, something something living in the moment I guess. it was great to see them, and it was good to get out of the house despite the snow.
brought the BIG cup to work today. it's the kick off of the external audit so it is looking like a two-coffees kind of day 🥀 at least everyone being busy means I am blessed with a week of minimal meetings... drinking "black cat espresso" blend by intelligentista + milk.
fiancé got me a Papershoot camera for my birthday (that's the name of the brand). it is not the fastest camera I have, it does not produce the best pictures, it is not even the most convenient. but i am able to carry it and use it in a way that is unintrusive.
he said he wanted a way for me to take photos for my journal quickly and seamlessly, without having to rely on my phone and without being able to see the photos right away. like with film, there is something to be said about not being privy to the results of your photos until later - living in the moment, capturing it haphazardly and recklessly, and reflecting on it only later when it is already but a fragile memory.
it is such a thoughtful gift - he dug through 3 years of daily discord messages to find the link, because he remembered me talking about it that long ago. i am so grateful to him, and am looking forward to creating some more great memories together and documenting them with this little addition to my arsenal.

p.s. not an ad, i'm not endorsing it (yet) because I have not given it a proper long term test yet but I wanted to share because it was a very thoughtful gift and I love the aesthetics of the brass + being able to see the circuitboard.
