when people ask me what animalistic traits I have, I come up blank- not because I do not have any, but because to me, they aren't animalistic. I come up blank because they are ordinary for me, everyday, every moment. to many who do not know me, I do not seem wolfish. to me though, everything I do is wolfish, every fiber of my being. These traits seep through the ways I do my makeup, my hair, the sports I do, my job. my hobbies and favorite things. How I communicate, my routines. my every inch is that of a wolf, and I love it ♡

This might be kind of a hot take but I feel like the community has shifted away from identifying as animals to identifying with animals. I'm not a big fan of how many folks don't understand their own species behavior or know a lot about their species, it has led to me feeling very isolated around other canines due to how many of them don't present their species behavior (or even understand a single thing about how packs or canine behavior even works)

This is just my own personal take, but it feels weird to try to socialize with most folks in the community because most of the time its seen as "taking it too far" when you actually act as your species. (coughcough wolves are not friendly social creatures to strangers and can actually be quite shy, and growling is not always a form of aggression, on a similar note a wagging tail isn't always a sign of friendliness either)

Now, this isn't to say that those who don't show behaviors like their species are "faking it" (because thats a whole load of shit), it just feels like the community has gotten a lot more anthropomorphized (or humanized) from when I first discovered it

I notice a majority of us are nuerodivergent so it could absolutely be some sort of byproduct of that, for example autism may make you feel less like a human because autism commonly makes you "different" from most people, but that doesnt mean its "fake" or something, it just means there's a source for it. I'm also aware not all of us are nd im just using that as an example as it applies to a majority of the community.

tbh i think it’s the combination of my misce identities and nonhuman identities but FUCK heat/rut cycles are so awful.

so, in my label hoarding i came across many flags that fit me well (however i can’t remember WHERE i got them sorry), such as: nebula biology, hypermustrousean, thelta dynamic, bidynamicfluid, etc

what this means:

I’m fluid between the theta and delta dynamics. The system I used for definitions uses temperament (T), physicality (P) and sociality (S) to define a dynamic. The difference between theta and delta? One is average P, caree T and submissive S, while the other is dominant S

So, the level of dominance I feel varies, and therefore my dynamic does too. I also use this as the basis of my biology: Nebula. This means I experience heats and ruts in variance (like my sub and dom aspects). Nebulas also may or may not be able to get (others) pregnant, or not know all together

Hypermustrousean and related terms describe the intensity of heats and/or ruts. This one describes very intense (hyper) heats and ruts. This goes hand in hand with my hypersexuality

Tbh i’m honestly not really sure that being a canine plays much of a specific role in my heat/rut cycles, other than being the thing that makes me have them altogether
