if you've ever applied for a job you deserve 50 million dollars in financial compensation
It's so nice being on tumblr because you don't even have to make your own post but people would still follow you anyways if you're good at rebloging posts they like
work tomorrow is one of the worst things that can happen to you
the state does not need to assign you a sex, nor does it need to keep inalterable record of it btw
a very interesting terf objection to this one boils down to "but how would the state know who to protect?" because it speaks to the incredible privilege of being in a class the state actually ever remotely wants to protect. most oppressed groups do not want the state to have a registry of them, lol
the patriarchy has done a great job convincing white cisgender women that it's in their best interests to maintain it

On the flipside of this, in Fahrenheit 451 the destruction of books also started with not being allowed to say racial slurs. So. It's not a perfect manifesto
(genuinely one of his characters has a whole screed about how these damn minorities were too easily offended and now everybody burns books. A screed which I believe Ray Bradbury echoed himself – I think he had some kind of a rant about how you're not allowed to say the N-word or slurs against queer people anymore? But I would need to look it up to double check. The part in the book is definitely there, though)
(i'm not saying there's nothing worth paying attention to in the book! I actually quite like the book and think it's eerily prescient in many ways. But everyone forgets that part, and I feel one must take the good with the bad)
being black in any art community is such a strange feeling cause you’ll see just blatant racism being expressed in others art and you have to just casually ignore it, for your sake if anything, colorism being something that’s just fundamentally there in every artist and you deal with it cause it’s not worth it in the end to even think of it too hard let alone even mentioning it, it’s definitely something
Hello nonblack reader of this post, I think you ought to share this one so that you and your peers can actively remind yourselves 1) of how your Black peers feel when you tolerate antiblack racism in your art spaces for entertainment and 2) that we notice it, but don't believe it is secure around enough of you to bring it up 🙏🏾
Ways Of Saying I Love You (Debs's Version) | (Ava's Version)
All amazing points and so important to take in. I think I have done a couple of these, but not habitually or intensely. But it's good awareness for me.
