So I have a theoryā¦
So I wasnāt shocked at the reveal of Mrs D having a twin as I had already theorised that and was definitely expecting it. What did shock me was a thought I had that really made a lot of sense to me. So here goesā¦
Let me take you back to season 1ā¦ Do you remember the story that Ali told Hanna about the two twins in the kitchen ? One twin stabbed her sister after arguing over who gets to play with a doll. If you donāt remember hereās a link to the video of it:

After seeing Mary Drakeās (Mrs Dilaurentisā twins) Radley admission form it gave me a thought that tumbled into this giant theory that I now strongly believe. Mary Drakes file says she had violent outbursts where she would lash out and throw things. This made me think of the two twins that argued and one stabbed the other. Maybe, this wasnāt a story after all and what really happened to Mary and was the reason why she was sent to radley ?
My theory is that like the story Ali told Hanna. 25 years ago when Mary Drake was admitted to Radley and Mrs D adopted Charles Mrs Dilaurentis and Mary were arguing, but not over a doll. Over Charles. Mrs D suggested that Mary should check into Radley as she was concerned about her mental health and Charlesā safety. Mary is very angry and sees this as like her sister is trying to take her child away from her. Mary lashes out and stabs her sister ( Mrs Dilaurentis ). Mary is then seen as unstable and dangerous and this is the reason why Mary is then sent to Radley and Mrs D adopts Charles. Because Mary is unstable,Violent and is unfit to look after a child.
This is very messily written as its 3 am here but feel free to leave any criticism or questions if you have any :) I might try rewrite this properly.

When did they say that I may have missed it ? I had a look at the ages & according to the websites Charlotte is 30 now. Mary was admitted to Radley 25 years ago which would have made Charlotte/Charles 5 years old at the time.

ā¦CeCeās story from the 6A finale was a complete lie. She is not āCharles DiLaurentis/Drakeā, she is actually Bethany Young, Mary Drakeās daughter and Alisonās cousin. Wren is the real Charles, born to Mary but adopted by the DiLaurentis family. That would still explain the two boys at the farm, Wren and Jason. CeCe just told the story the way she did to cover for the good doctorā¦which is very obvious he has a connection to Elliott, considering they have both been referenced as the āgood doctorā and have British accents. Another thing I found fishy is how Mary Drake was in Radley and so was Marion Cavanaugh, who also looked an awful lot like Jessica. Marionā¦Mary. Strange coincidence. Or maybe a plot twist? Maybe Iām hoping but it all seems very strange and coincidental.
This would be amazing. I never believed Ceceās story. And so many fans were pissed, if Marlene did this sheād definitely redeem herself.

Hanna is going to confess to Caleb that when he left for Europe she chased after the cab but he didnāt see or she thought he didnāt care blah blah blah and this is going to be like in an āin case I die, I just want you to knowā way and heās gonna be all cheesy and say āI moved on Iām with Spencer now.ā And Hanna will just nod. Later on Toby and Spencer get locked in a room somewhere and so they wait for their friends to come get them. Spencer will then confess she regrets her decision to end her pregnancy 3+ years ago. Sheāll tear up saying sheās regretted it everyday since she did it. Heāll console her and then theyāll kiss and Haleb will catch them.

This is the thing that the majority of the fandom just doesnāt understand. And Iāll admit, at first I didnāt either. On the night of the finale, I literally said to myself when the episode finished āsoooooo, I still donāt get why CeCe hated the liars so much????ā
But then I went and re-watched episodes and with the following information in mind: āCECE DILAURENTIS IS A, SHE ACCIDENTALLY āKILLEDā HER SISTER WHO SHE LOVES, AND CECE WANTS TO BRING HER SISTER HOME ALIVE SAFELYā, literally the whole entire show fell into place for me. Itās really quite brilliant BUT ONLY IF YOU RE-WATCH or you simply wonāt see the pieces fall together.
This needs to be made very clear so Iāll put it in capitals, not because Iām yelling though haha.
CECE DID NOT HAVE ONE SINGULAR MOTIVE THAT CARRIED ACROSS THE SEASONS.
IT IS NOT SO BLACK AND WHITE LIKE THAT.
Everyone needs to stop thinking āwhat did the girls do to CeCe to make her hate them so much?ā and instead be thinking āwhy did CeCe do that?ā
Thereās a difference.
Because majority of the time, the answer as to āwhy did CeCe do that?ā is NOT because CeCe hated the liars. To quote CeCe āI love all of my dolls. Thatās why youāre still aliveā.
āWhy the hell did A hate her sister enough to dig up her own grave?ā WRONG QUESTION to be asking! She loved her sister. CeCe dug up Aliās grave in 3x01 because she had a hunch that Ali is truly alive (CeCe said she was seeing a blonde in a red coat and thought it might be Ali - it was Ali) and thought by digging her grave she may get answers about her sister who she thought she killed.
āWhat did the liars do to make CeCe want to burn them alive at the lodge?ā Thatās how the fandom is thinking. Wrong question to be asking!! Totally wrong approach!!
Iāve said this a million and one times, long time followers are probably sick of me now but Iām happy to say it again in case youāve missed it - CeCe did not want to kill the girls. CeCe wanted to put the girls in what SEEMS to be a dangerous situation because CeCe knew that her sister would come out of hiding to save the girls (ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE WHEN SHANA AND WILDEN SHOWED UP AND TURNED CECEāS FAKE THREAT TO A REAL THREAT - Shana and Wilden wanted Ali dead for their own reasons and thought Ali was going to be in that house, Shana failed to get justice for Jenna here and tried again in New York), to which CeCe wanted to know if her sister is alive. And she was. Alison pulled out Hanna.
āWhy the hell did A kill a cop?ā Well Wilden wasnāt going to let Aās sister to come home and tell her story because Wilden covered up the true āmurderā. Again, CeCe is helping her sister!!!
āWhy the actual f*ck did A frame Ashley Marin for Wildenās murder? Why did A hate Ashley?āAgain, WRONG QUESTION TO BE ASKING!!!A didnāt hate Ashley. CeCe killed Wilden. CeCe wanted to get away with it. CeCe thought that by pinning it on the person who ran Wilden over with a car a few episodes ago, she may get away with the murder and she may be able to bring her sister home without Wilden stopping her.
This is where the part that majority of the fandom isnāt happy with comes into play. CeCe overdid things, and perhaps those tiny events are without reason: driving the car through Emilyās house. Almost cutting Emily in half. Freezing Aria and Spencer to death.
But ONLY BY RE-WATCHING WILL YOU NOTICE THIS:
THE TIMING OF THE STUNTS A PULLED ARE GENIOUSLY DONE, WELL DONE MARLENE.
Driving a car through Emilyās house?? Happened ONE episode after all the liars found out from Nigel that CECE WAS THE ONE WHO ORGANISED THE FLIGHT PATH TO THE LODGE.
Cutting Emily in half? Happened right when CeCe was on the news for killing Wilden, and right when they were ramping up investigation about CeCe and her connection to Radley and Marion (Spencer literally asked Dr. Palmer ādo you know a CeCe Drake?ā) The girls were SO close the uncovering the truth! CeCe got mad!!! CeCe needed to protect herself! CeCe nearly cut Emily in half!!
Again, please notice the timing!!!
There is no underlying motive. Itās all about the timing and what is going on in CeCeās world that causes her to attack or not.
āWhy the hell does A hate Ali so much that she would attack her in her own living room and text her saying āif you leave Iāll kill you?āAli was going to leave Rosewoodā¦ right after CeCe worked so hard to bring her home safely! CeCe even BLEW UP JENNAāS HOUSE TO MAKE ALI SAFER AS JENNA WAS A REAL THREAT (dead girlfriend Shana, the Jenna Thing), yet Ali was going to leave. CeCe didnāt want her sister to leave after ALL that effort!!
āWhat did Mona do to CeCe to make her kidnap Mona?ā Mona was building an army against Aās sister. Mona told Ali to get out of Rosewood (yet CeCe attacked her to stay) once and for all. CeCe aināt having any of that.
AGAIN, to help her sister, CeCe got rid of Mona. āMona canāt hurt you anymoreā, said CeCe to Ali in the Christmas episode.
āExplain to me why the heck CeCe threw Jason down an elevator shaft.ā Jason and Emily were getting too close for comfort!! Jason and Emily were SO close to getting to the truth about CeCeās connection to Wilden. Remember earlier that episode, CeCe lied about knowing Wilden yet later Jason finds a picture of CeCe and Wilden in Cape May. Clearly, they had a history. CeCeās true identity of being Charlotte was on the line. CeCe needed to act fast before they got the photo. CeCe got mad. CeCe broke the elevator. Whoops. Oh well. No one got seriously injured. No one died. Identity safe. CeCe won. She can move on with her day.
I could go on for DAYS and DAYS and break down every SINGLE event that happened. There are NO plot holes OTHER THAN Marionās death in the timeline. How the hell was Charles like 10 when Marion was killed, meaning Toby was a child when his mother died, yet she was alive when Toby was a teenager. Impossible. I donāt believe Marlene saying āflashbacks are interpretativeā. THAT is the ONLY plot hole.
So please. Message me if you think there are plot holes. I will try my best to clarify. In my mind, I have all the answers. Iāve been re-watching and everything makes sense. Everything. Sure some of it is heightened reality such as CeCe blowing up Jennaās house to protect her sister, but hey, there is SOME logic there. Itās not bizarre as if āCaleb blew up Hannaās house because she said no to dinner and a movieā. Iāve had messages saying āyouāre just an obsessed fan that is too in love with the show to admit that they screwed upā. That couldnāt be more further from the truth. I talk shit about the show when they deserve it, my followers know that I speak my mind! I donāt hold back! But in this case, I genuinely think Marlene has done a fantastic job at crafting an A storyline that wouldnāt have worked with anyone other than CeCe. Sure Wren is suspicious, but he was never A.
āThere wouldāve been less plot holes if it were Wrenā. People who say that get me mad. Then how do you justify the CeCe clues that are there by fact, not opinion? There would be MORE plot holes if it were Wren. He could be Uber A, donāt get me wrong, he is so suspicious. But he was NEVER ever Big A. (I say that politely. I know thereās some huge Wren is A theorists.)
I need to rap it up now (again Iām not yelling, just want to emphasise)
CECE DID NOT HAVE ONE SINGULAR MOTIVE ACROSS THE SEASONS.
CECE DID NOT HATE THE LIARS BECAUSE THE LIARS DID SOMETHING TO HER.
IT IS MORE COMPLICATED THAN THAT. ITāS NOTBLACK AND WHITE LIKE THAT.
This is where the negativity of the fandom is coming from, not everyone has dug that deep (fair enough, whose got the time when it wasnāt said IN the show - we gotta do it ourselves)
IF YOU TRACK THE TIMING OF EACH OF CECEāS MAJOR ATTACKS, AND TAKE NOTE OF WHAT IS GOING ON IN CECEāS WORLD AT THE TIME OF AāS ATTACK, IT ALL MAKES SENSE.
DIFFERENT MOTIVES AT DIFFERENT TIMES.
Thatās how I end it. Different motives at different times, with Alisonās safety being at the CORE.

Not asking for you to all of a sudden LOVE CeCe being A. Each to their own. You have the right to your opinion, obviously, and I respect your opinion.
Though if you say āI donāt like CeCe being A because it doesnāt make senseā, thereās a problem. It does make sense. You just donāt like it for other reasons. AND THAT IS TOTALLY FINE.

Update 1: āve got heaps of messages saying itās a plot hole for CeCe to love Ali and her dolls yet frame them for Monaās murder. Let me explain why this isnāt a plot hole, rather itās just a very extreme way of keeping Ali safeā¦ which has always been CeCeās goal.
Throughout all of season 5, the liars AND Mona thought Ali is A based on some investigations and info they found themselves; CeCe didnāt frame Ali to look like A. The liars did it themselves. On top of them being convinced Ali is A, Mona was building an army against Aās sister and threatening Ali to leave Rosewood (remember when they slapped each other in the 100th episode). CeCe, who can be a bit extreme at times, thought enough is enough with Mona making my sisterās life a living nightmare. Drugged her, kidnapped her, put her in the dollhouse. The liars - the ones who also thought Ali is A - arrested for her murder. Remember CeCe in the Christmas episode āyour friends arenāt here to say Merry Christmas, theyāre not loyalā. CeCe was pissed with the liars AT THIS POINT for harassing Ali. HOWEVER, REMEMBER āI love all of my dolls and would never let anything really bad happenā. So whilst yes the liars went to jail, REMEMBER there is no way in hell that wouldāve been permanent!!! CeCe had Mona too, alive, so the liars didnāt even commit a murder!!! All it wouldāve taken is to release Mona and her dolls are safe again. It was just a game. A way to keep Ali safe. Think of it like this: when Aria legitimately killed Shana, why did CeCe not take action on that? Because that was a LEGIT murder, and Aria would get in REAL trouble for that obviously. But with Monaā¦ she wasnāt dead. She wanted to protect Ali from the āAli is Aā claims and Monaās army. Why was Ali ALSO framed for the murder? THIS WAS CECEāS BRILLIANT PLAN TO END THE GAME. GET THEM ALONE AND COME CLEAN. On top of that, itās to officially keep Ali in Rosewood. No more running away. āI only got mad when you didnāt listenā!!! Quote of the finale in my opinion.
Also, CeCeās opening reveal quote: ādonāt be so dramatic Aliā really summarises it all - nothing really bad was ever going to happen to them.
Update 2:Ā Just some more things worth adding/sharing before the premiere! Some of these are copied and pasted from past posts from my blog but I wanted to bring everything here:
1) āI know who killeĀ that girl, the one you thought was Alison DiLaurentis.ā - said CeCe to Holbrook in 4x24. Now, thereās no way CeCe knew Mona killed/hit Bethany as of that point in 4x24 (did CeCe ever know?) Anyways, aināt it funny how the very next season Spencer is arrested for Bethanyās murder. So, during the 4x24 finale, thatās when CeCe began to frame Spencer. Funny how it was right in front of our eyes because CeCe literally said āI know who killed that girlā yet next season Spencer is (incorrectly) arrested for that said murder (so CeCe didnāt know it was Mona or else she wouldāve pinned it on Mona)!!!
2)Ā Ā Quote from Marlene: āThat was Charlotte (who knocked Jenna unconscious and left her to drown) because Jenna knew Ali was alive. Thatās something we have not discussed on the show so thatās totally new information.Ā
This explains why Shana told Spencer in 4x09 that Jenna fears CeCe, because CeCe knew that Jenna is aware Ali is alive, and CeCeās motive for being A was to bring Ali home safely. CeCe thought that Jenna was going to stop Ali from coming home, given Jenna and Aliās past historyā¦ they hated each other. Jenna was a threat to Ali and therefore a threat to CeCe. Hence CeCe threatened Jenna (āI will scratch your eyes outā) by pushing her in the lake. CeCe pushed Jenna in the lakeĀ just SECONDS after Aria and Spencer asked JennaĀ āif you have any info on Ali, you need to tell usā. CeCe needed to shut up Jenna.
Also, Jenna knowing Ali is alive explains why she said very very early in season 3B thatĀ āsomeone is attacking meā and thatĀ āIām still a targetā. IT WAS CECE! Because she held the precious information that Aās sister is alive! Again, linking back to why CeCe blew up Jennaās house - Ali already did come back home, but Jenna was stillĀ a threat (the Jenna thing and the liars killed Jennaās girlfriend Shana). And finally, hence Shana was A for two episodes to fight for Jenna who she fell in love with, as Shana knew Jenna was āstill a targetā (3x03) for holding that precious information that Ali is alive. Shana wanted Ali punished (a mutual hate because of the Jenna Thing) so Shana became A to take down Ali - by taking down Ali, sheās taking down CeCe who Jenna/her lover, fears.Ā
3) A quick update on Wren. We ALL remember that scene from 4x10 with Wren and Monaā¦Ā āthat was before I realised where your loyalties areā, said Mona. All this means is that Mona (later) realised that Wren was authorising CeCe to visit Mona in Radley, and throughout all of 4A the liars and Mona thought CeCe is A and took over from Mona in Radley (Spencer literally said in I believe 4x06 or 4x07Ā āCeCe visited Mona in Radley and picked up where Mona left offā) SO Mona thought Wren was on Team CeCeĀ hence that statement. And of course when Wren later said in the same episode on the phone to someone unknownĀ āwe have a problem, you take care of your end, Iāll take care of mineāā¦ this is nothing to freak out about I believe. Wren just spoke to Hanna saying how he thought HANNA was theĀ āyoung blondeā who attempted to visit Mona last night (Mona was in Radley at this time for confusing to Wildenās murder), but when Hanna said it wasnāt her, Wren realised that it actually wasĀ CeCe trying again to visit Mona (though the visit was rejected). So, the problem Wren was speaking about on the phone is that CeCe is again visiting Mona, which Wren is skeptical of CeCeās true intentions of the visits as of his chat with Spencer in 3x23. Wren was probably just speaking to another worker at Radley on the phone about the visitation stuff.
4) CeCe got her money to pull of the A stunts from: - Jasonās $50,000 reward for Aliās remains. Remember, CeCe dug Aliās grave in 3x01 to see if her sister is truly dead after she killed her, so CeCe had whatās left. - Mrs. Dās fundraisers (fashion show and bridal show) which was transferred into the Carissimi group by Mrs. D for CeCe to use - Ezra was paying CeCe for info on A for his true crime book. CeCe actually being A, used this situation to her advantage by lying to him and distracting him from herself as A.
