hi!! would it be possible that I could be removed from the tag list?
I will still follow the page and follow along as submissions are reblogged, but I'm not going to be able to participate this year so I won't need all the event updates.

The knowledge settled slowly. A loss but not one he liked to linger on. He had survived, his men had survived. That was what mattered.
What haunted the Wolfpack most was how close they came to losing their Commander entirely. They didnt speak of it openly, they didnt need to. It showed in the way they spoke to him, the way they watched him with a careful eye. It showed in the quiet that fell whenever the topic about the lack of medics was brought up.
They had lost 3 medics in a matter of months. One killed in a bombardment, one who was captured and then never recovered and the other reassigned after breaking down mid-deployment.
Medics came and went. They were natborns for the most part. Bright-eyed at first, determined to make a change. Then quickly worn down by the reality of the war.
They weren’t weak. Wolffe never believed that. They were simply unprepared.
The Republic trained medics to save lives in controlled environments. The Wolfpack and majority of the other battalions operated in situations where control was a luxury.
Despite this, they needed a medic. Desperately. They needed someone tough, strong, someone who would stay. But Wolffe had very little hope that the galaxy would grace him with that and so when the transfer notice arrived, another Medical Corps officer reassigned to the 104th, Wolffe read it without reaction. He had learned not to expect much.

Ella’s apartment overlooked the lower skylanes, traffic streaming endlessly past the transparisteel windows like veins of light. It was quieter than one might think it would be, instead it was shielded, insulated and deliberately removed from the noise of Coruscant.
General Starling had chosen it that way.
Her father sat in his favourite chair by the window as he so often did when Ella arrived. Ella smiled as she looked at her father, no doubt waiting up for her as he insisted that he could never sleep without knowing his little girl is home safe. His hair had gone grey at the temples in recent years, his once smart army uniform replaced by simple civilian clothing.
“You’re late.” He spoke without turning.
“Yes,” Ella replied, taking off her shoes and putting them away neatly. “The ward is busy.”
He hums and continues to stare out of the domed window.
Ella barely gets the chance to set her bag down before her little sister ran towards her, engulfing her in a hug. At 13 years old, Calista was full of restless energy and excitement.
“You’re home!” Her baby sister said, relief and happiness evident on her young face.
“Only for a little bit.” Ella replied, kissing the top of her sisters head.
Calista was everything to Ella, there was nothing in the galaxy she loved more than her baby sister. Despite their 13 year age difference, they were beyond close and their father often referred to them as two peas in a pod.
Calista rolled her eyes, a habit she has picked up recently. “That’s what you always say.”
Ella didnt answer straight away. Their father turned then, his gazing moving between his two precious girls. He knew, he somehow always knew.
“You’ve been reassigned.” He states curtly.
“Yes.”
“Frontline?”
Ella nods.
Her sister’s brows furrowed. “What does that mean?”
“It means,” their father says calmly, “that your sister will be closer to the fighting.”
Calista looked dumbfounded and her grip on Ella tightened. “Why would you want that?”
Ella held her close, meeting her eyes. “Because thats where I’m needed.”
“Thats what they all say.” Calista mutters, hurt evident in her voice.
After Calista retreated to her bedroom under the pretense of homework, Ella’s father poured them both a drink and gestured Ella to sit with him.
“You know what you’re asking for.” He says bluntly to which Ella nods. He studies her for a long minute. “This isn’t about proving anything?”
“No, Papa. It’s about being useful and helping those who need me.”
“You can be useful at the hospital, you keep people safe and alive there.”
“It keeps them alive after,” she says quietly. “After decisions are made, after delays, mistakes. I know I can do more.”
Her father exhaled slowly. “You sound like I did once.”
“Is that supposed to warn me?”
“No,” He says. “It’s supposed to warn you.”
Later, when Ella stood to leave, her father placed a hand on her shoulder. “Write to us when you can.”
Ella nods. “You know I will.”
Calista hugs her again at the door, fiercely this time, as though shes afraid to ever let go. “Don’t be stupid Ells.” She whispered.
Ella smiled. “I’ll do my best.”

The medical ward aboard The Triumphant was never truly quiet, but it learned restraint when Commander Wolffe occupied one of their beds. Troopers moved more softly than usual, boots struck the deck with less force, not by order but by instinct.
Wolffe lay propped slightly upright, the right side of his face wrapped in fresh bandaging that curved tightly around his head and disappeared beneath the collar of his blacks. The pain came in slow, deliberate waves—manageable but persistent. He didnt welcome it, but he didnt resent it either. Pain meant he was still alive.
The med-droid finished another scan, its optical sensor flashing.
“Neutral stabalisation within expected parameters.” It spoke. “Commander Wolffe, you are advised to remain under observation for-”
“Dismissed.” Wolffe grumbled.
The droid paused, then complied, gliding away to it’s next patient without argument. Wolffe exhaled slowly and locked his remaining eye on the ceiling above him. He hated this part, the stillness, the waiting.
He had already reviewed the after-action reports three times. He knew where the failure points were. He knew which decisions had nearly cost him everything. That knowledge would be addressed later on, for now though, he endured.
Footsteps approached.
Wolffe didnt turn his head, he already knew who it would be before they stopped beside his bed.
“Permission to speak freely, Sir?” Boost asked.
“Granted.”
There was a brief hesitation. Wolffe could feel it, the weight of Boosts being measured and reconsidered.
“We thought we lost you out there.” Boost said finally.
“You didn’t.”
“No, but we came close.”
The admission hung in the air, heavy and unspoken before now. Other troopers had gathered nearby, Sinker, Comet and a handful of others.
“We should’ve had a medic closer.” Sinker said, jaw tight. “We were stretched too thin.”
“We were,” Wolffe agreed. “Thats on me.”
“No,” Boost interjects, sharper than intended. “With respect, Sir- thats on command.”
Wolffe sighs. “Look, I am not dead, the unit is operational. Thats the end of it.”
The troops all nodded once, though their expressions remained tight.
They turned to leave, but Comet lingered a moment longer.
“Sir,” He says hesitantly. “We’re glad youre still here.”
Wolffe didnt respond immediately, but when he did it was brief. “So am I.”

Across the ship, Ella stood with her belongings slung over her shoulder, datapad tucked under her arm, waiting.
She had boarded The Triumphant less than an hour earlier and had been directed here almost immediately. No orientation, no tour.
The atmosphere was different from Coruscant, it was tighter, heavier.
Ella could feel it in the way the troops moved around her, their attention momentarily drawn to her presence before sliding away again. She was not ignored, but not welcomed either, though she could understand why.
A medical officer, a clone, his rank insignia marking him as senior, approacher her.
“You the new assignment?”
“Yes,” Ella replied. “Lieutenant Starling.”
He nodded. “Good. I’m Patch.” He says. “You’ll take over Commander Wolffe once he’s done from droid supervision.”
Ella hesitated. “The commander was injured?”
Patch studied her briefly. “Severely.”
“I’ll need his medical file.”
“You’ll get it. For now, wait here.”
She did. Ella stood alone for what felt like forever, watching troopers filter in and out of the corridor. She caught fragments of conversation, references to battle, to Ventress to evacuation delays.
This was not the distant war she had known through reports and recovery cycles. This was immediate. Raw. She felt the weight of her decision settle more fully in her chest.
The medic, Patch, returned and gestured her in the direction of the med-bay. “You can go.”
Wolffe heard her before he saw her, her footsteps lighter than the troops. He turned his head slowly, his eye fixing on the figure approaching.
She stopped at a slight distance.
“Commander, I’m Lieutenant Ella Starling. I’m your new medic.”
Her voice was steady, controlled. He noted the details of her automatically. Her straightened posture, her GAR-issued scrubs, her brown coloured hair tied into a thick braid, the way she held herself without stiffness. Natborn. New.
“Status.” He spoke.
“Stable,” Ella replied softly. “You’ve sustained significant trauma to the orbital region. Neural scans show no cognitive impairment, but you’ll require continued monitoring.”
He absorbed the information without comment..
Wolffe studies her carefully. No fear or alarm was evident on her face, just focus.
“This unit doesnt keep medics long.” He states.
“I’m aware.”
“You’ll be under fire.” He states, looking at her skeptically.
“I know.”
“Orders will supersede medical judgment.”
She met his gaze. “We’ll discuss that if it become necessary.”
Something unreadable spread across Wolffe’s face. “For now, do your job.”
Ella inclined her head slightly. “Thats what I’m here for.”
She turned then, already reaching for his chart, her movements precise and unhurried.
Wolffe watched her for a moment longer, before closing his eye again.
The war pressed home and for better or worse, she was part of it now.
