Need advice from someone who has read the game changers series- I have read game changers and heated rivalry, should I read the next book in the series or just read the long game (which is the main one I wanna read)?

I’m worried I won’t be able to enjoy all characters if I read the long game directly, but also I want more Ilya and Shane

After watching Heated Rivalry, like many before me, I wanted more so I read that book. And no hate to Reid but the book characters were not as fleshed out as I expected them to be.

HR got popular because Hudson and Connor as so damn talented, they breathed life into bland characters.

Now that ahotknife has made me sad I want Shane to meet Svetlana and create a hockey mind meld with her. He'll blink and realize they've been breaking down all the problems that the top three teams are having this year and its been 3 hours. He gets a little awkward and apologizes for talking her ear off, because even Ilya, who loves when Shane monologs, gets a little bored after an hour, even his mom will move the conversation along after awhile. But Svetlana looks at him like he's crazy and ask him why he's apologizing for being the only person besides her with good hockey opinions. They go two more hours before Ilya has to remind them of dinner reservations. (He's been there the whole time, somehow managing to get them close enough that it is an ilya cuddle sandwich and has been scrolling Instagram and playing candy crush happy as a clam and only sometimes contributing).

Svetlana teases him but she's like Ilya in that she's never really laughing at Shane, just poking. Even with ilya he's never texted so much with anyone because theyre always on the same wavelength and then it strikes Shane. He looks at ilya one day and says you have a type. Which he does, hot little weirdos who are freaks about hockey.

I just watched heated rivalry for the second time and man does it hit right each time. The characters are so nicely written and especially played by Hudson and Connor, I just am in love with both them and their characters ❤️

damian texting jon and hes giggling and kicking his feet and then he has to get up and pace around with his hands clasped behind his back and then clutch the bathroom counter and stare darkly at his reflection and then gaze pensively out the window. this takes about ten minutes. afterwards he skips back into his room and continues texting jon and going "teehee"

I like the idea of Damian being an evil baby and Tim being the only one who notices. I also like the idea of baby Damian only acting that way because it makes Tim react, as in, he's tried babbling his name, he's tried walking (or trying to walk) to him and Tim doesn't pay him attention. But when he pulls at his hair and throws things? That catches Tim's attention, so he's always acting like that around him, while acting like a little angel around the others.
