B dubs is a peridot that was sent to earth as a technician but dreamed of being a builder and artist so he was easy to pull into the rebel side.

Ingore how Logan is the only one colored I drew him earlier in the day when I had more motivation, and he is also my favorite ❤️ But this is the core sides (Logan, Patton, Roman, and Virgil) in my style, and my sort of ideas and thoughts on them. :))

Rendog is a parti-color tourmaline with a right hand placement, the gem itself symbolizes self love and compassion while the right hand placement can symbolize doing the right thing, taking matters into their own hands, and future. I liked the parti-colored tourmaline because ren has lots of reds and blues, but I do not particularly like the watermelon tourmaline design in the show, but she’s a fusions so im using that and the different type of gem to not have to use that design. And idk what tourmaline would have been used for in like era 1-2 homeworld but it seems maybe like a topaz type job as sorta Brute in a way, guard or smolder type job but not as high class as a garnet.

Joe Hills as a green spinel!

I thought about a crazy lace agate for him but I didn’t vibe with any variation of that gem so when I saw a green spinel I thought it was perfect. So like stated in the picture the IRL symbolisms of spinel are renewal, heart centric compassion, and emotional balance, and in the show of Steven universe spinels are seen to act as a sort of jester for upper class gems, bringing whom ever their assigned to endless entertainment. So I think Joe could of been with a gem that was more a head general of sorts in the 1000 year war and defected finding the other ‘hermits’ and being taken in, one of the first that come from an outside group. 

All this bit is subject to change ofc but I kinda like this idea for Joe :)

(I also just realized that his hand is the wrong way and thats why it felt off but its too late to fix it now oh well)

Had a fun idea to try and make a SU AU for Hemritcraft and this is what I came up with for Xisuma.

Rough idea of a background/origin:

So the rough idea is that they are either crystal gems that have kinda separated and doing their (the hermits in general) own thing OR a group of ‘off colors’ that were never evolved with the crystal gems. But I know that they are on Earth and are safe form the diamond blast and decide to make a safe place for any gems or people that may need it.

Xisuma a sardonyx fusion (a garnet and a pearl) his helmet is not a part of his ‘form’ so if he gets popped then it will not disappear and he only wears it because its basically a habit from battle because a gem on the back of the head was very hard to protect while also protecting the gem in the front so he acquired a helmet. And since the helmet doesn’t come off a lot its not very common information that he’s a fusion so I think a scene like Garnets in the show would be fitting for him as a like shock factor scene, the only ones who really know and have seen him unfused are Keralis, Joe, Doc, and Hypno, but some Hermits like Mumbo and Cleo who know about Xisuma being a fusion but have never actually seen the two gems who make up the fusion.

The reason I chose a sardonyx specifically a fusion is because (according to the site I was using to determine which gems would fit each hermit) a Garnet represents or protection and friendship, pearl represents for unity and wisdom, and sardonyx represents courage and stability. And I think all of these qualities combined match Xisuma very well.

I really like this concept idea and I don’t want all the hermits to be gems necessarily if it doesn’t doesn’t fit them the character or the story, and I definitely dont think all of them need to be fusions I just think it fits him. And I know that all the gems are technically fem presenting but just some suspension of belief for this AU.

False for Hermit a day may! I put her hair half up half down because I can’t draw long hair (which is something I will work on) when its fully down 💀 but I really like how she turned out and I gave her bird feet bc I see her as a eagle hybrid and wanted to try it out :))
