A Jamaican slave revolt, 1759
Honestly gotta say I don’t respect many of you for buying into Argentina’s victimhood narrative over being called racist for having no Black football players. It’s not racist to point out it was state policy to replace Black and Indigenous peoples with European immigrants. It’s not a “yankee opinion,” I first heard this criticism from my Latin American wife. I recently heard it in a room of Latin American and Afro Latina feminists
You know, when I've remarked that a lot of the responses to my posts feel like people are just plucking out keywords they think they recognise based on the shape of them and replying to what they imagine the post says based on that, the possibility never occurred to me that this is actually how many American schools are currently teaching kids to read.
Like, my assumption this whole time has been that when folks go "I misunderstood this post that says [thing] as saying [unrelated thing] because I mistook [word] for [completely different word that happens to start with the same letter]", that was a bit. What do you mean they're teaching kids a reading method that's tailored to produce this exact error?
Three cueing. Once you learn about it, a whole lot of very frustrating online discourse with US Americans makes so much sense 😭
For decades, schools have taught children the strategies of struggling readers, using a theory about reading that cognitive scientists have
If you were taught to read with the three cueing method, and now struggle to read fluently, you can still learn to read properly!

If you're a teenager, you can still use this resource.
The other post is much too big and I still need help with credit card bills and food money. I was able to support my family earlier this year but I'm in between checks, and won't see any money until I finish writing my second book. If you'd like to support your favorite horror author's favorite horror author (not to mention keep a disabled Black lesbian's family afloat), please consider sending me some Good Luck, Don't Starve money!

continue to be flabbergasted by the genre of trans guys who will say “trans men are men!!!” until they’re blue in the face, but when it’s time to talk about male privilege and transmisogyny, suddenly they’re poor little AFABs with glass bones and paper skin.
No one is saying you don’t face transphobia. We’re saying you have privilege for being men within a patriarchy. why does that make you so angry and why do you feel the need to call me a dumbass nazi terf about it
I been somewhat following the "Argentinians being Extremely Racist during the World Cup" saga, and like... BONKERS lmao. How do you manage to purge an African population of 30% without some true hate 😭
It does explain that mindset that I have always found odd about Latin American racism, which is that (valid!) resentment of the US for being part of the Global North and Imperial Core, while simultaneously sharing so many of its racist, white supremacist beliefs. It's like... So you don't hate the racism portion? That's not the problem to you? 😅
And obviously, again, not all Argentinians. But systemically... That is a Problem.
wow that's extremely ignorant. argentina did not PURGE its black population. this in fact is a white supremacist myth. and by reproducing it, you are reproducing white supremacist rhetoric. the population got mixed very early on. most of argentinian people (outside of the city of Buenos Aires) are what usamericans would call brown. if you are truly interested in knowing more about argentina's poc and aren't just a performative left leaning imperialist, maybe you should look for the voices of argentinian activists and not the voice of a tourist.
"The discovery of personal whiteness among the world's peoples is a very modern thing," observed W.E.B. Du Bois, "a nineteenth and twentieth

Hi, biracial colombian here(making this clear since I’ve noticed one of the most common things people like you do is assume people on her talking about racism are always white and either from the usa or from europe). It is absolutely not a white supremacist myth to acknowledge the fact that Argentina did very much try to purge its Black population. Cut that “hiding my racism behind the facade of anti-imperialism” bullshit for two seconds and try to think on why the fuck did we latinoamericanos ended up having a lot of multiracial heritage. It wasn’t just something that happened on a whim, it wasn’t just “population just got mixed early on,” it was a result of trying to whiten the Indigenous (and later on the Black) population. Blanquiamento. A term that is still nowadays extremely important to our relationship with race as latinoamericanos, due to it still taking place in the context of individual and family settings. Yes, brown people in Argentina exist, but if we want to look at say, statistics, then you’d have to admit that the majority of Argentinians are white and of european descent.
Source
And yes a lot of them do very much believe themselves to be europeans lol ask anyone from any other country in latinoamerica, ask argentinians themselves, a lot of them will agree on the a reason why for a lot of us they’re not considered part of latinoamerica. Because they. They don’t really want to be.
Now, if you actually gave a single flying fuck about knowing more of us biracial, brown, and Black latinoamericanos, you’d listen to the voices of afro-argentinians, and afro-latinos in general, before jumping at Black people on tumblr.com for talking about the racism within our communities. Because it is there, and it is rampant, and pretending like calling it out is just “imperialism” is hilariously stupid and racist.
this is what healthcare is like as a disabled person
has anyone noticed the new meta for people being accused of bigotry (esp white people being accused of racism) is to claim they're receiving harassment (often with no proof just on a "trust me" level) so the whole conversation turns into how harassment is always wrong and bringing up the bigotry that sparked it will get you accused of lolcowing
my toxic trait being that i eat other people
hey yall, wanted to update that tumblr alerted me that the mature tag was removed from my gifset which was unexpected because i don’t think they even read my appeals for the ones all over my art.
ironically? the first time they removed a mature tag (on an ask i received) was after i mentioned it in a different post i made that got 11k notes meaning someone from staff definitely saw it and presumably removed it the tag.
this leads me to believe that they 10000% know this is a bigger problem than they let on because the only two times they have removed mature tags on my posts about black women and girls, was when i, or someone else, mentioned it with receipts on a post that got thousands of notes.
idk what’s worse? knowing this system targets certain people and still using it bc it’s cheaper or whatever than any real moderation.. or only stepping in and changing it when enough people complain. not sure how i feel about either.
Every single non trans woman who proclaims to be an ally absolutely needs to be posting about how goddamn transmisogynist staff is.
Because when trans women dare to speak up for themselves, Tumblr nukes their blogs.
We need to be fucking loud about this, daily, because Tumblr staff is specifically targeting and deleting trans women who are not breaking ToS and who often have fundraisers up FOR THEIR SURVIVAL.
By deleting these blogs repeatedly, Tumblr staff is saying loud and clear what they hope happens to these girls.
Are y'all okay with that? Because if not we need to be posting about it more because we have seen by now it's incredibly fucking unlikely this sites moderation will delete our blogs for it because we are not trans women
Tumblr staff and CEO Matt Mullenweg want trans women in need to not be able to post their fundraisers, meaning they are okay with these women dying.
#Make Racists Scared Again 2026
Share if you want people to know they should be scared to be racist around you 👊🏾
"making them afraid will make them more racist" that's wild to me, because we live in a whole culture of social consequences for antiracism anyway. It is literally safer to be a racist than it is to speak up against it, socially.
Idk about you, but "I'm afraid no one will want to be my friend if I'm a white supremacist" seems like a pretty logical thought process to have, and I wish THAT were the normal and not "I'm afraid my friends will hate me if I tell them they made racist jokes".
sometimes racists aren’t even aware that they’re racist tho
I had a more intellectual answer for you, but tbh... Then I guess they'll find out. And when they do, they have two options: apologize and actively commit to doing better, or understand that they are choosing racism and will be treated as such. Because the society we live in, somehow option number 2 is the easier route due to a lack of social consequences for being a bigot. I don't think choosing to be a bigot should be the easier route. It should suck to be a racist.
The pain is deeper than the physical scars on our skin.
