Save the date! The HFSGS Lecture Series welcomes award-winning novelist and poet Ocean Vuong. On Thursday, April 15 at 6:30 pm, poet and novelist Ocean Vuong reads from his recent creative works. Following the reading, Vuong is joined by faculty mentor and interdisciplinary artist Dao Strom for a conversation. Today! Kick off the graduate symposium with a curator talk for the Forms of Care Symposium exhibit “Come on In.” 12:30 PM PST on Zoom. Find the link in our bio! “Come on In” is a collection of PNCA graduate and alumni student work highlighting a range of mediums and meanings. Abstract work, graphic design, zines, figurative representation, photography, sculpture and textiles all make up the works in this show. Our aim was to create a gallery - of care - that invites all viewers into the creative world of the individual artist while collectively examining the ways in which we can nurture, process and create visual narratives that ultimately lead to the world(s) we need. Well, some of us are.” A “Who Cares?” clock is often gifted on the occasion of retirement, or to mark the “end of work.” What does it mean to give up, forget, or ignore linear time, and to acknowledge natural, personal or abstract time? How can we be free of the endless hours? Are we in end times, or are we just beginning?
