Is there a certain book that started your love of reading? 🖤

For me that book was The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón. As a kid I used loved books, but during my teenage years I almost stopped reading completely. That was until I was assigned to write an essay about this book. I fell completely in love with it and became obsessed with his writing. Ten years later I still consider him one of my favorite authors and the book holds such a special place in my heart.♥️

Hi everyone! I’m in a bit of a reading slump at the moment, trying to finish a bunch of books I’ve started but haven’t finished for on reason or another.

I did however pick up this book from the library after getting it recommend to me by a colleague. I absolutely love traveling through The States and I tend to gravitate towards books set in the American south, so I’m excited for this one!🏜

🌍 EARTH DAY 🌎

Today we celebrate #earthday to raise awareness of the climate crisis. I’d like to encourage everyone to educate yourselves on the changes you can make in your everyday life in order to live sustainably and lower your impact on our planet. The internet is a great source of information and offers plenty of resources; books, articles, podcasts, documentaries, YouTube channels and Instagram accounts. The key to making good choices is knowledge!

My proudest achievement in life is that I continually strive to lead a sustainable and low impact lifestyle, not only for my own benefit, but for the sake of everyone around me as well. Leaving some of the comforts of our modern lifestyle behind, many of which we take for granted, can seem daunting at first, but I do believe that by doing so you get to be a part of something much bigger and more rewarding.

Today I’m reading Silent Spring by the incredible Rachel Carson, an absolute pioneer within the environment movement.
