two paleontologists and a mathematician walk into a bar <3
little blurb from my fic that inspired this!!
https://archiveofourown.org/works/70913681
"Ian," Ellie said his name more sternly this time, "I don't think he came to a bar for a lecture in mathematical theory."
"It's alright, " Alan said. "I don't think I have ever heard someone flirt using theory before. Quite a lot of academic explanation to get to a pick-up line."
"Only one other person has ever caught on that quickly." Ian nodded toward Ellie, who was leaning on her arm, still gazing at Alan. "People tend to focus on the weird math part." Alan signaled for a top-up on his drink, and Ellie ordered a beer. Alan shrugged.
"You said that meeting me was built into the way the universe works."
"And I do mean it when I say Complexity theory could lead us to believe that." Ian looked satisfied.

I’d Be Home With You
They escape the island. Alan watches the island explode beneath them, bomb by bomb, framed by the most colorful sunset he’d ever seen. Muldoon had just told Ellie and him that Hammond was dead. But no one cared about Hammond. They found they cared much more about Malcolm, and now Malcolm was gone.
Alan and Ellie have escaped Isla Nublar, but now they are trapped in Costa Rica under government orders. They believe that Ian Malcolm is dead. At first they have Lex and Tim to distract them, but when the kids are allowed home and they are not, they must confront their feelings about a man they had only known for two days.
Then, they are told the news that will change everything.

christian bale is so pretty its not fair
Little blurb from the dinot3 au fic im writing :)
“My point, the belief I base all of my study on, is that human beings convince themselves that Chaos is not part of the normal order of things. That it is separate. But the reality is that this unpredictability is part of the normal order. No. No unpredictability is the normal order.” He was talking slowly, as if he were dissecting the words that came out of his mouth. “Another example. Say I’m out with my ‘good friend’ Ellie, and we meet a handsome, rugged fellow at a bar in Texas. Whom we both happen to find intriguing. Anyone else would call that good luck, happenstance. But I know that my luck is not random. It is built into the way the universe works.” “Ian,” Ellie said his name more sternly this time, “I don’t think he came to a bar for a lecture in mathematical theory.” “It’s alright, ” Alan said. “I don’t think I have ever heard someone flirt using theory before. Quite a lot of academic explanation to get to a pick-up line.” “Only one other person has ever caught on that quickly.” Ian nodded toward Ellie, who was leaning on her arm, still gazing at Alan. “People tend to focus on the weird math part.” Alan signaled for a top-up on his drink, and Ellie ordered a beer. MACBETH costume designs!
these were done as one of my finals for college and im so proud of them :,) we were given creative freedom for the time period so i chose the 1600s (i love making life hard for myself). some historical mistakes here and there, but my blood sweat and tears went into these and the research for them good lord. im the most proud of the concept for Banquos ghost, using the “slashed” style of clothing that was so popular in the 1600s to literally show his slashed blood was actually genuinely genius of me thank u very much ! also, i had done way to much research on rural scotland instead of royal scotland so i ended up using that for the witches concept! i looked into the historical context for the play and i could keep yapping but i will not. just super proud :)
