just remember that Pokemon Legends Arceus is supposed to be ancient times compared to the modern pokemon games.

Chances are that even though the games are inspired by the meiji restoration and very late Edo period. On the pokemon timeline it would probably have taken place more than several hundreds of years ago.

I believe it took place 1,000 years before the modern pokemon games since most people believe for something to be ancient it has to be around 1,000 years old if not older. (From my 5 minutes of research)

Pokemon is still technically fantasy so their timeline of events can be and most likely is different from ours.

I am definitely not trying to map a vauge timeline so I can make a rewrite au because of boredom.

actually, 1000 years would be quite the overshot! 150 or so years ago is more accurate, and ironically enough, the leaked concept/pitch for legends arceus say it takes place at 150 years too, but it could be more rounded out! But YEAH based on architecture and overall lifestyle of what we saw in pla, it parallels the Meiji Restoration, which started in 1868.

People,including me at first, from outside Japan don’t necessarily get just how QUICKLY Japan modernized. The time between The Meiji restoration (which included eliminating Samurai as a class of citizen) and World War II was only a century or so!

it reminded me of when a lot of fans/me thought Demon Slayer took place 1000s of years ago too, when really ita in a similar position/era to pla! its so cool

Yeah. Maybe 1000 years seems far but it is still a fictional universe so it could be at anytime gamefreak or the pokemon company want.

My only problem with this is how modern it is when it's supposed to be "ancient times" according to what the pokemon company said in the advertising. (From what I remember)

The only reason why I have a problem with the whole thing where it was "long ago in ancient times..." sort of thing is that it is just confusing because it was make more sense to just say "hundred/hundreds of years ago..."

I kinda understand how quickly Japan had modernized because of the meiji restoration because all I do know about Japan's history is that.

I also understand that Jubilife Village and the technology of Hisui is Meiji Restoration. I am just making the argument that Hisui and the pokemon world are fictional and their timeline could 100% be different from our own.

I also understand that in the leaked info it said it's was meant to take place around 150 years ago but we also don't know if they changed it or not if the info was from the teraleak. Teraleak info is kinda sketchy when it comes to what is probably canon or not but I could talk about that later.

oh no worries, thought i do wanna say, theres no "fighting back" cause there was no fight started here ^^' my intention was for my tone to sound more laid back, chattin, makin conversation in the hallway type deal and was interested in what you thought about this info actually. And of course i have no power over what u wanna do and certainly wont police or judge what u do for ur own au.

PLA was a game that brought so much life into the franchise for me and i love seein people talk about it. I do agree that 150 doesnt feel long enough for"ancient times", but my only guess would be that tho it replicates *our* 150 years ago...in the world of pokemon it could be much further away?just a guess, but even so, i meant to say b4 that aus are about explorin stuff, doesnt havto be so biblically accurate.
