hello, it’s nice to meet you! i’m going to introduce myself formally! my name is sylv! i’m 18 years old and i’m a music and italian double major at my university. i love drawing, reading, writing, playing video games, singing, cosplaying, and playing the piano. i’m currently giving piano lessons to the kids in my neighborhood and working on an RPG about classical composers. i sing in 2 choirs at my university including the select chamber choir which tours at the end of the semester (just got back from that, it was super fun!). i love puns, profanity, and free expression. i’ve been through a lot of tough times, but i always manage to find something to be happy about. i’m very excited to interact with all of you!

as for updates on the blog?

i just finished the chopin biography. i have a bit more reading to do; i’m going to re-read the biography by adam zamoyski. i also wound up buying the DVD for impromptu, the torrent ended up failing. but i got the DVD for free, because i had an amazon gift code for $25 that i only just remembered i had! having a physical copy will be even better. as soon as the DVD comes, i’ll be making icons right away!

though i do have an anime convention coming up this weekend. i’ll be participating in the cosplay dating game at animenext this year! if you’re in the area, you can come and say hi to me. i will be cosplaying trainer red on saturday and rival silver on sunday! hopefully for next year i will cosplay chopin….

it is late now, so i am going to log off for now. but i am very excited to start rping with everyone!

Sorry for the shitposting and OOC. I finally finished the screencaps, I have 359 of them. I’m going to start making icons tomorrow. I really feel like I can’t roleplay without them...

… as regards Chopin, watch out: His art has nothing to do with excessive emotional displays that so many think of as passion. Naturally, they think his music should be able to speak for itself and portray its essence, but under no circumstances should the interpreter give way to an affected or uncontrolled confession. Such music is a struggle with the powers of darkness in which there is no room for intellectual well-being. It meticulously lays bare a heart beyond time and space listening without complacency to its own beat. Chopin is all that and more. I’m more grateful to him than to anyone else for my contact with him has enriched and ennobled my own playing. Beware of aesthetes who delve into the inexpressible charm of his music as if it were a Vale of Tears. They are fake seraphim: you should ignore them.

(✿◠‿◠) friendly reminder that frédéric chopin was likely biromantic ace ♥ he wrote romantic letters to his childhood friend tytus woyciechowski (sadly the feelings were unreturned) describing how he wanted to kiss his friend on the mouth and cuddle him. george sand, chopin’s lover and caretaker for 10 years, attests repeately to the composer’s asexuality. this sketch was very quick because i’m already drawing something else at the moment, so i wanted to be able to finish this quickly. i used the ace flag colors for the coat and the bi flag colors for the bowtie. please reblog, more people need to know about this ♥
