if you feel like expanding your view of the world (in a way that doesn't involve thinking about everything that's wrong with society) my recommendation is go to youtube and start watching videos about 1) paleontology 2) quantum physics. in literally no order. don't worry about understanding everything right away just let it wash over you
Yes please??
yeet
paleontology:
PBS eons - very bite sized videos, assumes no prior knowledge. goes for the weirdest/coolest stuff most of the time
your dinosaurs are wrong - uses toy critique as a jumping off point to teach you about how dinosaurs really looked
clint's reptiles - mainly about modern animals, but has a good sized playlist about dinosaurs. dude's got great energy
paleo analysis - I especially recommend the complete history of the earth playlist
I could keep going but I think the algorithm can take you from there
quantum physics: (I have less of these, I would also like recs if anyone has them)
PBS space time - way, way harder to follow than PBS eons, but not in a bad way. this is one that you watch to go bro what the fuck. and then suddenly understand things while you're taking a shower later
the action lab - not entirely about quantum physics, lots of cool science demonstrations in general. usually shows you something absolutely buckwild before explaining it to you
professor dave explains - if you want a sequential explanation of the basics of quantum physics you go to this playlist right here. I recommend doing that after watching other stuff and going "what the fuck" for awhile though. I just think it's more fun that way
