Sometimes I see Steven Universe talked about as like a pinnacle of soft squishy unproblematic queer media and I'm just like. What show did you watch??? Like yes it is ultimately a kids show and yes the art style is colorful and pastel and soft but like, there was an arc where one of the protagonists committed allegorical-rape-by-deception and the cast had to like. Deal with the fallout of that. One character shapeshifted into another character's dead wife because she was mad at him. It is a show about messy morality and problematic characters doing horrible things to each other and having to live with that.

I think that in order to be a "bicon", your bisexuality has to be in some way central to the Thing That You're Known For.
