Personal illustration for an Ancient Greek Dionysian winter. Apollo, sadly, didn’t come to join Dionysia yet, because he had to go to Hyperborea early, with his sister, Artemis. And also since the northern wind Boreas and his daughter, Khione had already covered the whole of Greece in snow, these younger Olympians had to take refuge and have a small celebrating feast within the small shrine of Dionysus.

This golden amulet is Djehutys name as hieroglyph (a few tiny parts are missing, like the back of the perch and the two little slashes, but you can see how mangled it is), 1950 - 1800 BC.

Currently I am crafting one of these as He told me to shortly after he called me. So I hope my skill will suffice… (oh boy I really hope so, been practicing hard for this).

Well, I did it.

Sterling silver and gemstones. Chain: serpentinite, lapislazuli, carnelian, labradorite, travertine, faience type heishi, sterling silver. Amulet: 935 silver, fine silver (999) and preseli bluestone.

All stones except labradorite and preseli bluestone are attested as jewelry stones with sacred meaning (also faience). Labradorite and preseli bluestone contain feldspar in green hues. This is the reason behind choosing them. Usually green feldspar is one of Djehutys stones, but at the point of crafting I had not sourced amazonite (one of the variations of green feldspar attested) in a decent enough quality. Another reason is preseli bluestone being the dolerite variation found in Wales, which was used for building Stonehenge. As it contains feldspar and is a green stone I considered it to be a nice link to magical traditions. Djehuty is great in Heka - and that would be later called magic.
