stop calling it a girl dinner and call it by its formal name: Fend For Yourself dinner in an ingredients household
things mulder does that remind me of the most endearing toddlers I’ve worked with
will elope if unsupervised in public
puts everything in his mouth
always awake when you want him to go to sleep
zero impulse control
thinks he conveys his thoughts clearly, only to discover people understand at best 80% of what he says
does something he knows is wrong and pointedly makes eye contact with you as he does so
confidently tells you exactly what is going on regardless of whether or not he actually knows what’s going on
makes jokes that are only funny because he thinks they’re funny
brings his favorite person special gifts which may or may not be literal garbage
considers “personal space” to be approximately two centimeters away from you
is the cause of 90% of your problems and the biggest pain in your ass that you can’t help but love
annoying when shows set in the medieval period have the women with thier hair just long and unstyled and out . girl go put on your wimple girl 🤦♀️
like there are so many fun medieval hair and headgear options, it's so boring just seeing loose beachy waves meant to appeal to 21st century beauty standards
put that hot prince in a gay little hood with an ostrich feather or so help me god

Is it me, or is the passage about how Ponyboy and Johnny used to go to church together written kind of oddly?
“I’d been in church before. I used to go all the time, even after Mom and Dad were gone.”
It strikes me as odd that Pony says “I” instead of “we.” It makes it sound like he used to go alone, as opposed to going with his parents. I’d be inclined to brush it off and assume he means he went with his parents and then after they died he kept going alone. But then we get this part:
“When Johnny and I went, we sat in the back, trying to get something out of the sermon and avoiding the people, because we weren’t dressed so sharp most of the time. Nobody seemed to mind, and Johnny and I really liked to go. But that day…..::anecdote about the gang being disruptive:: Everyone in the place turned around to look at us, and Johnny and I nearly crawled under the pews…. I hadn’t been to church since.”
This doesn’t sound like a church where his family went regularly. It doesn’t sound like he knows these people, and from his self consciousness about his appearance, it doesn’t even sound like they’re from his neighborhood/community. If they knew his parents, wouldn’t they make a point of greeting him when he came to church, of asking how he and his brothers were doing, instead of ignoring him while he hid in the back row? Wouldn’t they recognize Pony and Soda instead of just staring at the disruption? If this is the church Pony grew up attending with his whole family, wouldn’t everyone there know him? Why would he hide in the back and why wouldn’t anyone come say hi?
It reads like either Pony used to go to church alone (and the “even after mom and dad were gone” may refer to him maintaining his faith after their death), or the people at his parents’ church are shitty people who made no effort to reach out to the orphaned children of their deceased congregants or to make them feel included when they show up. Or maybe after his parents died he started going to a different church, but why would he do that if he was so self conscious about how he appears to strangers?
