While I'm dipping my toes in the selfship community (and I've meet some FANTASTIC fellow people there) my main go to is ocxcanon. I LOVE designing fancharacters with the high priority of fantasizing about them smooching my favorite characters.
I've been making characters in a physical art form for over 15 years. Many of my ocs are created with great care to make stories about them, whether to further the canon story or create a alternate story with the canon characters, rather then primarily used for wish fulfillment romance (not that there's anything wrong with that of course). As well as include those characters in fics I might post eventually.

My pronouns are she/they. I'm a 5'1" cis bisexual with an adoration for fictional old men. My favorite season is Fall and my favorite holiday is a tie with Halloween and Christmas. I love bows and ribbons. My favorite flowers are sunflowers.
I love Disney and Dreamworks movies, Renfield 2023, The Pirates of the Caribbean movies, The Lost Boys, The MCU pre phase 4, and The Mummy 1999. Some of my favorite shows include Gravity Falls, Hellsing, Courage The Cowardly Dog, anything X-Men, and Avatar the Last Airbender. I'm not really into video games, but ones I like are Mario, Crash Bandicoot, Resident Evil, Overwatch, and Sea of Thieves.
I hyper fixate on one fandom thing to the next and back like crazy. I rarely drop a comfort show or movie I've indulged in, rather it sits in the back of my mind before springing back up.
Other hobbies collecting way too many enamel pins, novelty candles, stuffed animals and the occasional fan merch.
Sharing oc lore is fun, until I remember for people to actually care about them I need to explore them in dept through story instead of drawing their references on a blank page and calling it a day.
I think it'd fun to do a little lore dump with questions regarding a few of my ocs, specifically ones I ship with canon characters. Of course these can be used for all ships, ocxoc and canonxcanon. Feel free to use these questions for your own ships! I'd love to see them. <3 I answered all the questions below. I kept the answers brief to keep the post from getting too long, but feel free to ask about any oc specifically if you are interested!
1. First Ship: BerutaxRaditz from Dragon Ball Z
I scoured through my da to see the first stuff I began posting. It was...painful to say the least. XD Technically Beruta is not even close to my first oc, but she is the first I regularly posted about with a ship. I even created my first AU because of her (even though technically all ocxcanon would be au). She's an alien species of my own making that I am continuously adding to.
2. Most Recent Ship: WandaxStanley from Gravity Falls
Big love for old women! I've certainly done more stuff with other ships, but my newest one has to be this one. I really should do more of her, her and her best friend actually have a very interesting backstory.
3. Current Favorite Ship: EvelynxLoki from the MCU
Unlike Beruta, Evelyn is one of 3 ocs I posted first way back in the day. One oc is now shipped with another oc of mine and the other has been abandoned completely as I no longer like the show nor the oc. Anyway, I adore her as a character and her cosmically induced powers.
4. Hottest Ship: CarolinexJack from Pirates of the Caribbean
Subjectivity aside, this is without a doubt a very...nsfw ship. XD Lots of casual sex before and after I started shipping them. Just two captains sailing the seas.
5. Platonic Ship: HarperxCrowley from Good Omens
I actually started out shipping Harper and Crowley (although the two never slept together) but I like the idea Crowley is very selective. Meaning only Aziraphale. XD So Harper is much more like a good friend/sibling. I ship her with an oc now anyway. Harper's a half demon half human.
6. Poly Ship: My Witch TrioxVampire Quartet from The Lost Boys
Barbara, Maryanne, and Stevie are 3 witch sisters that I don't ship together themselves, but I ship with David, Dwayne, Paul, and Marko. I also ship the boys with each other. XD
7. F/F Ship: DanicaxWednesday from The Adams Family
A more general ship rather than a specific version, although I do love the movies from the 90s. I still actually never seen the tv show, so idk.
8. M/M Ship: N/A. This is a strange realization. While I have a couple of gay, pure man on man ships with my own ocs, I actually don't have a m-gay ocxcanon ship. Granted I only have a small handful of male ocs to begin with, but still. XD
9. Comfort Ship: EleanorxArdeth from The Mummy
A real personal ship for me. Not surprising as Ardeth is one of my comfort characters in general and Ellie is my sona.
10. Most Controversial Ship: StasyaxTeddy from Renfield
Controversial in the sense Stasya and Teddy are extremely unhealthy for each other, which isn't surprising since they're both crime lord heirs. Violent, manipulative, and sadistic. What they have is certainty fun, but not to be replicated. XD
11. Guilty Pleasure Ship: AmyxPietro from the X-Men
I don't have any guilty pleasure ships, not really. But I wanted an excuse to share this x-men oc. XD I also like writing Amy and Pietro as codependent bums. Amy also goes by the codename 'Gyro' and manipulates gravity.
12 Most Complex Ship: LucianaxThe Captain from Hellsing
I call this one complex, due to the nature of it being a slow burn. A long form enemies to conspirators, to allies, to friends, to lovers. Basically I have had a grand time going into the details of their arcs where to the two grow together. Luciana especially. She is not the same person in the end as she was in the beginning and that's what's so interesting about it.
13. Ship You Didn't Like Before But Like Now: AbbyxSam from Danny Phantom
From the start I always envisioned Abby to being a lesbian, but a ship for her seemed to change a bunch as I like to experiment her with a lot of female characters. Ultimately I really grown to like her and Sam dating. I think it brings an interesting dynamic to the trio to let another girl in the group and while I still like Danny and Sam they're not my favorites anymore and I can see Danny with others.
14. Ship You Don't Like Anymore: SavannahxLaura from the X-Men
Wouldn't really say 'dislike' so much as 'changed the dynamic'. Savannah is the biological daughter of Sabretooth, and at first I loved the idea of her and Laura (x-23) having a rivals turned lovers as a contrast to Victor and Logans extreme contention. I still like them together, but I'm not opposed to drifting them into a much more platonic sisterhood. Especially in the context of x-men evolution, which the reference pic is from.
15. Ship From Media You Only Vaguely Know: GeorginaxLoona from Helluva Boss
I started watching Helluva Boss regularly when it first started but I started to taper off a while ago. I haven't watched anything past the beginning of season 2. I still very much like Georgie and Loona. Georgie is a african wild dog inspired hellhound.
16. Ship You Still Like But Hate The Media They're From: ZinniaxSeverus from Harry Potter.
Gonna be honest, I don't hate Harry Potter, I only vaguely know about it. I haven't read the books and I've only vaguely familiar with the movies. Still I love Severus from everything I have seen and I love making characters like his happy. So Zinnia came to be.
👶First Ship: The very first ship I can think of was Manny and Django from El Tigre.
👒F/F Ship: Hear me out, Vexus and Nora from My Life As A Teenage Robot. Before I even thought of girl on girl, I always loved Vexus and I knew she was a girls girl.
🫧Guilty Pleasure Ship: I don't think I have a guilty pleasure ship since I don't feel guilty with my ships. That and I'm not that into any canon ship specifically that I would feel the need to defend it. I guess if I had to pick one I'd pick Teddy and Robert from Renfield for how unbelievably unhealthy it would be.
👎Ship You Hate: I can appreciate some good enemies to lovers as well as age gaps, but the first ship I remember having a visceral ick to was Danny and Vlad from Danny Phantom. Even full grown Danny, gross.

Go ahead, make your OC the sibling/child/friend/whatever of an important canon character. Ship your OC with a canon character. Its fandom, its posts on social media/fanfic/fan art. Go for it, have fun, make up your own headcanons.

Erin's favorite intimate act is when Dwayne plays with her hair. Running his fingers through it, scratching her scalp, and tracing her skin. Erin loves to return the favor of course. :3
Erin also loves to hold his hand/arm as much as she can. Especially when they're out on the boardwalk or the beach.
