herm is the one to always fall asleep during school trips. like the ones where you need to ride on a bus. he falls asleep as soon as they sit down. he always ends up laying his head on robert's shoulder. and while is robert feeling soo cool right now, like his boyfriend is sleeping on his shoulder he's so so alpha, z-team take a million pictures of sleeping herm and robert with the most smug look on his face.

herm is probably so used to people flirting or trying to get with robert in one way or another.
robert was always kind of popular in their school. a lot of girls tried to get with him, some boys too. but nothing hit the same as spending time with herm anyway, so he always declined. and herm knows robert loves him. he loves him, very, very much. but seeing people flirting with him still hurts a lot.
even during their hero years as a duo. a lot of other heroes flirted with robert. his fans. he was always more popular than robert anyway. they weren't... "officially" together as a hero duo. they never announced it, but it was pretty clear in the way they interacted with each other, even on public. some people didn't care, trying to get into robert's pants at any chance.
at sdn too. mandy backed off immediately, as soon as she found out herman and robert are together. courtney didn't know at first. she tried her best getting robert's attention through her own ways, robert telling her off because he's in a relationship. but even then it was so clear that robert is getting a lot of attention from people. that he's handsome, smart, interesting. people like him.
herm got used to feeling jealous. got used to feeling other people wanting his boyfriend. later on his husband. even if robert loved showing herm off, even when they're announced being together as heroes, people still wanted him. he always said no, showing the ring on his finger, but it didn't make herm any less jealous.
but he's used to it by now. or at least that's what he tries to tell himself.
herm loves when robert doesn't wear a shirt around the house. when he walks there naked, only in his sweatpants, fixing their sink that broke down last night.
when he finishes up, sweaty and dirty, wiping it away with a towel. while herm gets to see it all, see robert's muscles flex a little with his every movement.
robert doesn't do that often. he doesn't feel the most confident with all his scars, with all the weight and muscles he lost after being in a coma. but when he started growing it back with herman's help, he felt like his boyfriend deserved a little show every now and then as a "thank you" for all his help.

herm would be so scared to let robert into the mech again after his coma. he was scared of something happening again, robert blowing up and falling into coma again, there would be even smaller chance of his waking up, everything could be so, so much worse than the last time.
and then he sees robert blow up in the mech again. right in front of him (i think in this au he would go to see the testing of the mech. to support his boyfriend, you know). and he has no idea what to do, it's all just a huge flashback of when he saw robert getting blown up on the news. be just stands there, eyes wide, as everyone else rushes to help.
when it finally hit him, he was sitting in the medbay, holding robert's hand while he was still unconscious. tears making his face even more wet than before. he's so, so terrified. so scared that this is it, that robert won't wake up now. he has no ides what to do.
your watermechabae thought on chad and robert loving to see herm all domestic makes me think that part of why they love it so much (besides being such a turn on and cute asf, lol) it's because they never thought they be able have something like this, yk?
robert used to think so because... well, we know how he didn't even thought he would ever get to really live and not just survive for the sake of keeping mechaman alive, much less that he would have someone who cares so much about him and that he cares so much about as well.
now, with flambae, he never thought anyone would truly understand him and want to stay after they saw all of him; that no one would want to deal with his personality for long (as he had been told before), so the idea of a full commitment relationship was pushed away and deemed stupid by him.

but then herm comes in, and somehow he wants to be with them. wants to take care of them, of their house.
for robert it's so unusual, so unreal, almost. he's not used to someone fussing over him because they love him. he's not used to a clean home with someone else waiting for him besides beef. for home cooked meals. for all the kissing and cuddling. and the same goes for chad, he never thought someone would handle him. someone would want to tolerate his temper and powers. he's been told to be a pain for all of these things a lot, but both herm and robert just... handle him. they don't mind the temper or the powers. they just love him, and that's what matters to them.
herm is just full of love for them and they're not used to it.

they get him the maid dress/skirt and herm is SO confused on why they're getting turned on from him cleaning up. he's literally just... cleaning up. they tell him they have their reasons.
herm wears the dress/skirt and the whole time he's just really shy and red, but then as he gets to bend over, he feels two really hard smacks on his butt. and yeah, they've smacked his butt before (mostly chad) but this is different. they're being total perverts! not that herm is against that.

i absolutely love the idea of robert texting like an old person and herm having a hard time understanding if he's mad at him or if it's just the way he texts.
it does feel nice for herm when robert compliments him and calls him pet names with his old man way of texting. especially of robert also uses old styled pet names for him.

both robert and chad are obsessed with the fact that herm is so domestic. in a way that he likes keeping everything clean around the house, cooking and baking, wearing their clothes while he's doing it. everything about him just screams husband material.
but one thing that drives them crazy is when herm is cleaning up something and he needs to bend over, or get on his fours to get something under the table. he does it without even realizing how he shows off his flat little butt to his boyfriends at the moment. how his back arches just a little bit.
both chad and robert give each other a stare whenever they see herm doing it.
i had posts about how robert keeps a picture or herm and beef in his wallet and at his cubicle at all times BUT i imagined something similar with teen watermech
robert would keep a picture of herm in his pocket when they were teenagers. one of these dorky ones they made in a photo booth, him kissing herm on the cheek while herm is all red, shyly looking away. when he became mechaman, he started keeping a picture of herm and later on a picture of beef in the mecha suit as well. after the suit got destroyed he moved the picture to his wallet and to his cubicle. he always keeps a picture of herm and beef with him.

Waterbat where Herman is very confused when Somar expresses that he's interested in him. Yes, part of that feeling is from his low self worth and his history of being mistreated and unwanted by others, BUT the other reason he's confused is that Sonar has been er...vocal about having a preference: Boobs. Sonar has expressed how much he loves boobs, and Herm is flat as a board. He figured something like that would be a dealbreaker for Sonar, among other things.
Obviously that logic is flawed, Sonar does like him as a person, and Herman is still very attractive appearance wise. Just because Sonar finds boobs attractive, it doesn't mean they're a requirement for him to be attracted to someone.

but herm doesn't want to ruin whatever robert has with courtney/mandy. if he got a new girlfriend, it's fine. they've been divorced for years and their kids are already grown, they'll understand. and he's still very much oblivious to robert attempts at flirting with him and trying to get back together.

teen z-team and teen watermech thought
every time watermech fall asleep together on their hangouts/sleepovers, z-team try to draw on their faces with markers and take pictures of them. they can't really do it on herm because he's constantly wet, but they go CRAZY on robert's face. just the dumbest stuff ever.
they also just take a lot of pictures of them being lovey dovey and romantic to make fun of them.
