I like to think that the reason water boys powers make him constantly moist is because he has some fishy attributes(I’d imagine he’s part Archer Fish specifically since they shoot a jet of water out their mouth to disorient their prey). At least in this little au if he dries out he won’t die but he would be significantly weaker, and alternatively he would be a lot stronger in water. Mmmyeah this guy probably sleeps underwater (pool/bathtub, take your pick) and lowkey no one in the Z team is aware of any of these inhuman traits (because he’s embarrassed of them and hides it) so they just think he’s a strange moist guy with really weird eating habits.

-that was what made the z-team curious on how that happened

-they start asking what he did to them, and waterboy, for the life of him, just stutters and tries to get out of the situation

-of course it doesn't work, and it makes them even more curious, but it was worth a shot
