I think it’d be interesting to read the Inheritance Cycle from Murtagh’s POV. I normally don’t like it when authors do that, cuz I feel like I’m just re-reading the same story, but I think his would be different enough that it would be interesting. I would totally read it.

Endless Bells Hells
I never talked about it before, but the "pain is inconsequential" quote literally saved my life.
When my dad died, I felt completely numb for a long while. It got really bad, I isolated myself and pushed people away so they didn't have to deal with my depressed and helplessly angry ass. During that time, I read a lot. One of the books was John Greens "A fault in the stars." The one quote that stuck with me was something along the lines of "grief does not change but reveals who you really are," and it mortified me. I did not want to be this cold, indifferent person I was during this time. I struggled incredibly much with the concept. For weeks!
And then, one insomniac night, I watched the episode (it's C2 E110, by the way). It felt like a revelation. It might sound stupid and pretentious, but I think I started to heal a bit that night. This little sentence from a fictional dnd character felt like a acquittal.
I think both statements are true (for me, at least). I still don't like the person I was during that time - especially because my behaviour hurt other people. But I can now recognise that I'm not just a bubbly and carefree happy-go-lucky girly. And I learned that grief is horrible- you honestly have no idea how bad it hurts until you feel it.
All of that helped me to be a more understanding and empathetic human being. So maybe pain is not totally inconsequential, but it's also not something that necessarily breaks you beyond repair (even if it feels like it).
So, if you are grieving at the moment or ever did: it feels horrible. But I promise, your pain is not everything you are, just because it's all you can feel right now. The rest of you comes back, I promise ❤️
