Blog is moving

I honestly was torn about continuing to use tumblr once my site was launched for Positively Filthy Rich gear and more. I have used this site for over ten years and gained so many meaningful friendships and experiences. I did however decide to move this blog to my direct site. This brand and blog represents positivity and wealth expansion by any means. It’s been a long time coming but I’ve finally jumped into the industry of fashion. From being ridiculed for the risks I would take for wearing what would make me feel good to graduating with the best dressed superlative and eventually starting my own business. Having a bit of experience working as a stylist for a globally recognized organization and contractually prior to establishing Positively Filthy in 2020. I Wanted to start with accessories & necessities before the mundane articles of clothing. Amid our current crisis and I felt masks were essential to begin with. If you embody the hustlers idealism and chase your dreams, this is a product for you.

Water by Maeva Koemenan

Maeva Koemenan, the radiant one is a dear friend of mine. She has always been the one person to steal away an instance in time behind her lens. Before the craze begun and everyone aspired to become a photographer she was already honing her skills. Taking the mundane and transforming it into art of substance. From experience I know she makes her subjects feel as though they are exactly where they ought to be and secure in their moment. On May 12, Mothers Day of 2020 she gave life to what I believe to be her most captivating series. Now a self published curator of the water project she shares these portraits that consist of various walks of life. Water can be a fierce element but is also necessary to sustain life. Despite the waves of pain, frustration and depression that had stricken Maeva, she did not drown but begun to gracefully swim. I am proud and privileged to have seen her journey and will continue to root for her progression. As usual I will provide a link where you can purchase a copy of Water for yourself.

I am back to working two jobs since COVID 19 shut down the mall I was working in. I am pleased to say I have not been too busy to design some merch for my blog. You would think with all this new obtained “freetime” were experiencing that we’d be establishing healthy routines and better self care. I have always had a procrastinative mentality about things I want to accomplish. I don’t hold myself as accountable as I should but I am aware my limitations and try not to overbare myself with things to do. I suppose a quarantine routine is necessary for me to step up to the plate. Prioritizing my goals will also help me to not become overwhelmed with trying to do everything at once and ease the guilt for doing so. I need to work on my patience. I really would like these things to happen overnight and its simply not even possible. I believe the journey would be a long one but must learn to enjoy it. It is said that success is not a destination but on going, much like happiness. You can’t fail something that is continuous. Failure can only come from quitting. Mistakes are meant to be learned from and improved on.

In these times of uncertainty I urge others to make the best of their own circumstance and allow gratitude to fill their spirit with the joy of being present. We all have the tendency to think of the past and how things were better or wish of a hopeful future. Nothing wrong with acknowledgement of both yet opportunities for blessings are of the now (this instance).
