content creation is always important in creative spaces, but so is receiving feedback on it! RB this post if itâs okay for your followers/mutuals to tag you in the things they create, whether it be art or writing or moodboards or playlists, or anything!!
reblog this if youâre a fanfic writer & your motivation to write actually increases when readers actually show interest & give you feedback. even just a reblog or a little comment here and there
Two siblings are raised by abusive and destructive parents, and they only have each other. One day, they try to run away from home only to be abducted by aliens hoping to study humans. The children think the aliens are their guardian angels who will take them on adventures and finally show them love.
PSA: If you are under the age of 18 do not follow / interact with NSFW 18+ only blogs. Â
Itâs against the law for people to provide explicit content to minors, itâs not healthy for you, and bottom line is that tumblr is deleting peopleâs blogs for it and not giving them back. Even though their blogs are flagged NSFW. Even if they properly tag / warn. Even if they actively block minors. Â
First and foremost, protect yourself. Donât expose yourself to graphic things (it does have an impact), and please donât ruin things for everyone else. Â
If you are under 18, please unfollow me now and refollow when you are of age.
If I find someone under 18 following me or any of my explicit side blogs, I will not only block you, but I will start calling you out. People with way more followers than I have are losing their blogs and having to start from scratch, and itâs bullshit. Â
Hopefully I can get some writing done today and get some fics queued up for you guys! I need to get GOTG on Blu-ray or digital so that I can watch them when Iâm feeling blocked. Seems to unblock my creativity.
iâve been seeing a lot of posts to the effect of âi wish i could talk to more writers on tumblr, but iâm too shy.â and a lot of the replies are âyou can talk to me, i donât bite!â which is great, honestly. but these interactions, at least in my experience, rarely lead to anything more.Â
so this is my attempt to compile a list of how to be friends with writeblrs thatâs a little more than just âtalk to people.â i donât know if itâs just common sense for the rest of you, but this is all stuff i had to learn through almost a year on tumblr. im fuckign old omg.
so without further ado, i present: Conversation Starters For Writeblrs.
do they reblog ask games? send asks, off anon. reply to their answers.
see something in common? you both have dragons in your wip? youâre both the same age? tell them!
tag them in things! who actually cares if youâre following the rules of the tag games or not?
if theyâre asking for something, like book recs or advice, answer them.
compliments. literally anything, as long as itâs genuine. send them off anon so people know who you are.Â
reply to their fuckign writing!! pleAse!! and not just âooh this is goodâ (though thatâs nice too), but tell them what you liked! tell them what you were confused about! tell them where you want more detail! weâre all on here because of writing, might as well actually talk about it sometimes!
just. like. ask how their day went.
Also, some thoughts:
youâre not a bother. and even if you are, whoâs going to be rude enough to say it?
someone has to make the first move, it might as well be you.
theyâre just people. weâre all literally just people.
friendship â one interaction. keep trying. keep talking.
Warnings: Super fluffy, might get cavities from it
A/N: I needed some daddy!Yondu with a baby, so I wrote some instead of searching for it. Enjoy, and try not to die from the sweetness.
The bridge was empty, aside from the two sitting in the captainâs chair. The soft sounds of the child asleep in Yonduâs pouch could barely be heard over the engines, yet he heard them as if they were the only sound in the galaxy. And it made his heart swell with adoration.
She was perfect. And she looked so much like you. Of course his Centaurian blood flowed through her, and while she wasnât as vivid a blue as him, she was clearly not Terran. He carefully brushed a finger over her tahlei, so proud to have just one thing in this world that he hasnât corrupted yet.
âYou could have woke me up,â you stated, stepping quietly into the room. He glanced up and smiled.
âYa were sleeping so good, though,â he argued. âAnâ I know ya need yer sleep. Besides, gave me some time wit her.â You smiled and carefully sat on the arm of the chair.
âSheâs still so tiny,â you pointed out.
âSheâs half me anâ half you,â he reminded you. âSheâs gone age slower. So sheâs not gone look like a one year old till sheâs about four.â You nodded slowly. âStill adjustinâ to the whole pouch thang?â
âItâs just adorable to see it being used,â you admitted. âAnd to see that sheâs so cozy in there.â He smiled, kissing her head.
âShe dozed off fairly quickly. All she needed was a bottle and her papa. Anâ a nice warm pouch. Jusâ how her biology works, ya know?â You smiled softly and kissed his cheek.
âIâm glad we can give her everything we never had,â you murmured.
âLike a lovinâ home where she ainât gotta worry âbout gettinâ hurt?â You nodded. âI ainât ever gonna let dat happen. Ainât nobody gonna hurt our gal. She ainât gonna lose her tahlei like I lost mine. Anâ if I ever become a danger ta her or you-â
âYondu, donât,â you cut in. âJust donât. You would never hurt her. Or me. Youâre not that kind of man. Remember when we helped Peter fight Ego?â He nodded slowly.
âYeah, fucker knocked ya down anâ I lost my shit.â You nodded.
âThatâs how I know you could never hurt us. Youâre so much better than you think you are, and youâve come so far. Youâre amazing with her. And she adores you, Yondu. Donât talk so poorly of yourself.â He smiled and took your hand.
âWhere the hell would I be without ya,â he mused. You smiled, giving his hand a squeeze.
âProbably at the Iron Lotus, wasting every credit you earn,â you answered. âCome on. Letâs go back to bed.â He nodded and very carefully stood, making sure not to jostle the child in his pouch. The two of you walked back to your quarters, and he chewed his lip.
âHow we gone git âer in the crib,â he questioned.
âGood question,â you sighed. âI know we said no co-sleeping with her, but do you trust yourself not to roll onto her?â
âItâs in my blood, doll. I ainât gonna squish the baby.â
You smiled and watched as he eased onto the bed, laying on his back and letting your daughter hear his heartbeat. And for a moment, he wasnât the grouchy blue alien whoâs whistle signaled death. He wasnât the scarred Ravager captain who had been at it for years.
He was Yondu, and he had the whole world right there in the room with him.
You laid next to him, both of you watching your child sleep. She was safe. She was happy. She was loved. And there was no better place for her than right there, with you and him.
âI donât deserve ya, or her,â he murmured.
âYeah, well, youâre stuck with us anyway. Just one of the perks of fatherhood.â
