THE COCOAPUFF GIRLS

So about this project. For awhile now I’ve noticed almost every single time I see a darker skinned black woman “going viral”, she’s half naked, oiled up, and/or sexualized in some way shape or form. It’s very rarely ever “Look at this amazing dark skinned woman who accomplished this thing.” Or “Look at her smile, she’s gorgeous”.  Please don’t misinterpret what I’m saying. There is nothing wrong with darker women and black women in general being free and expressive about their sexuality and provocative features. BUT that is NOT ALL they are. They are so much more than sexual beings, but for some reason, that seems to be almost the only thing that grabs viral appreciation. So here’s my attempt to have darker skinned black women go viral for just being cute, creative, stylish, bubbly, beautiful, and black. Aside from the videographer EVERYONE involved in this project IS A BLACK WOMAN. I hope you guys like it. I ask that if you enjoyed this and agree with my objective, share it with a few people please.

This is phenomenal! These young and beautiful women from Mexico are proud of their African roots. The dance is a peculiar expression of their love and respect for the culture they relate to. These women identified themselves as Black and even made the government include them as Afro-Mexicans in the national census in 2015!

My mother told me all about scurvy when I was five and trying to resist eating pumpkin and let me tell you it’s been 35 years and I still get nervous if I go for two days without eating a green vegetable. 

I told my own little picky eater about scurvy, rickets etc and now one of her most frequently requested lunch items is baby spinach, closely followed by carrots.

I’m not saying everyone should mildly traumatize their children to make them understand that vegetables are vital to ongoing possession of your teeth and organs, but.. no, that’s exactly what I’m saying. Go for it.

Christians plan vigil for Winnipeg's Jewish community after woman attacked, swastika spray-painted inside cafe

Comes after 'most violent and vicious anti-Semitic attack and certainly in recent memory' in city

A city church is planning a vigil to support Winnipeg’s Jewish community after a violent anti-Semitic incident at a Winnipeg cafe that sent a woman to hospital and left the inside of a cafe vandalized with a swastika spray-painted inside.

The Westworth United Church is putting on a vigil Thursday from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at its church on Grosvenor Avenue.

“It’s very comforting to see other groups taking on this initiative to hold a vigil to express their feelings about it rather than us doing it ourselves,” said Belle Jarniewski, executive director of the Jewish Heritage Centre of Western Canada.

Jarniewski said the church approached her after an employee at the BerMax Caffé and Bistro on Corydon Avenue was assaulted Thursday night and the business, which had been closed, spray-painted with hateful graffiti.
