Indiie [De Gulden Snede II on INI Movement] Composition from 2010. Inspired by my time in Israel/Palestina. Most voices and sounds are sampled from The First Statement.

Trencadis EP [INI Movement] Trencadis is a type of mosaic created from broken tiles. Creating something of beauty out of broken, useless material other people see as garbage. Little sounds, twisted and mangled. Recorded on tape, processed with echoes. Sounds hidden far away so you might never find them.

I Never (feat. Amber Gomaa) The long tone in the beginning is a little hypnotic. It feels like you are tuning in, to get the right mindstate to hear my music. Noise is my agent. Noise and crackles give you a perception on time. And time needs to pass by to let music happen. 

Faeded (dub) I called this version a dub because Amber Gomaa and me where actually trying to make this track into a song. But I couldn't get it fit so I did what I did and that is dub it. The vibe is named after the feeling of losing something because it is fading away. Something slipping through your fingers, lost forever as it is changed because you lost it. That's why this dub-version is actually exactly what it suppose to be.

From Memoirs of a Geisha: "At the temple, there is a poem called "Loss", carved into the stone. It has three words...but the poet has scratched them out. You cannot read "Loss"... Only feel it.

Trencadis IV & II  These tracks are part of a bigger piece of music. Trencadis I and III will be released in the future. They are based upon one single movement. But this single expression has a lot of depth and subtlety.

Let's Go Based on the main theme of the electric piano. Again I took some drums out of a Opus 1-track (No Te Calientes).

The bass is basically playing a surdo pattern.  It is easy to get lost in technical perfection and artistic rules and demands. Sometimes you need to let music happen and just sit and watch. Let it go and let's go.

Style is the message Prace creates music that goes further than the boundaries of itself.

His style is like a mosaic. Taking the best from a lot of different cultures to show the beauty of the world. Latin rhythms combined with a Dub-style bassline, electronic sounds and real musicians all together.

Everything is connected somehow. The work of Prace shows how worlds can meet on an equal level. Complimenting each other and become common ground. 

You could call him a composer, music-producer, pianist or a deejay. He has roots in Hip-Hop culture, Jazz and Latin, Electronic genres and studied Indian and Arabic music. 

Because there was no genre that fitted his approach he named his music 'Dubnova'. As Dub and Latin are core elements of his signature.

Currently he has his studio in 'Kytopia' Utrecht. Working with different musicians to go and play live. He is also part of the team behind 'Safari'; a secret party around Utrecht.

Opus 1  This project is a study to latin music combined with other styles. I love a lot of different styles of music. And I want to create a lot of different tracks as well. As I was batching some Latin-influenced compositions there was a need to bundle them, and to have a 'context' to create this music for.

And that's why it is called Opus 1. This is just the first project where I batch some sounds. There is already enough material to create a second Opus with Arabic beats, and my love for asian music will also not be unheard...

Descendo This was the first track I recorded with Frank van der Meulen (studio engineer for this project) and Thijs Bastiaans (drummer). One goal is always to make the drums so tight that hiphop-producer would sample them. The drum pattern is heavily inspired by Kool and the Gang - N.T.

It is called Descendo because everything is going down. The melody walks down and the chords follow.

Dubnova The title is self-explanatory. This is a execution of the style I proudly call Dubnova. And this song shows a lot of aspects of it. Listen to this track if you want to know what Dubnova is.

No Te Calientes Straight up Latin Jazz. When I recorded this one I realized that every single Opus 1 track is a combination of two genres. Descendo has a funk drum. Dubnova leans heavily on Dub production and No Te Calientes (don't get too hot) is visiting jazz. This name is given because the composition is quite difficult. But if you play it relaxed it sounds much nicer than when you are stressing it.

Signature In Sound EP The beginning of a style called Dubnova. My journey through life and music leaves no place unvisited. As my art doesn't fit in any other genre I created my own. 

Jeu de Barricade Jeu De Barricade is a boardgame where you have to barricade your opponent. The wind-instruments are the pions. The drums, bass and electric piano are the board itself and the barricades.

I love the experience vinyl gives you. There is a zen-aspect to it, as the music you hear is happening right here, right now.

Jeu de Barricade is an attempt to make ultra-vinyl. Music you can drown in. A world you can discover new stuff in. Every time you listen to it it sounds different.

Favela Bossa-nova drums with a dub bass. Developing the style called Dubnova. Exotic beats, heavy bass and lots of echoes.

The First Statement 15 musicians from all over the world. Some field-recordings of Israel and The Westbank. And a lot of stories to tell...

The music of The First Statement is a journey through the conflict in Israel/Palestina. It's a report of my experiences in the Middle-East.

Together with Iris Vos I started to work on this debut-project. I started composing and looking for musicians for the ensemble and Iris took care of the management and organisation. In the end around 25 people participated for The First Statement. 

The music is a meeting between East and West. I wanted to let these cultures meet on equal terrain. Instead of sampling and borrowing sounds it was about complimenting one another. I studied Arabic music in Ramallah. Studying the rhythms, the tonal scales (maqamat) and ornaments in the Arabic musical tradition.

Every composition is about one place or experience I had traveling through Israel/Palestine. At the bandcamp-page you can find more info.

The artwork is done by Hoax and they did a magnificent job translating the concept to image. This was the first project ever done on the creative grounds called 'Kytopia'.
