GUYYYYS. The one time I actually like a hastily-inserted tertiary character, and Hook murdered him. And for no reason, just to cross worlds, which they can do in about 15,000 other ways at this point. There was a hashtag going around about this last night, to the effect that OUAT does not have enough POC characters to be flippantly killing off the ones they do have, and even beyond the much-needed diversity representation, Merlin was legitimately charismatic and compelling and had promise as a character. I cannot BELIEVE King Arthur and Merida are still going to be stomping around in their Halloween costumes but Merlin, my beautiful Merlin, is gone. And I mean gone, like Emma blew his dust off Granny’s floor, blowing it all over the eating surfaces and ketchup bottles and grease in the deep fryer and what not.

It’s just such ridiculously bad writing. I can understand people being angry but it’s like Rumple lying about the dagger for NO REASON. I can’t even think of it in universe–I can only see Kitsowitz giggling and saying “Nyah nyah nyah.”
