I believe Jesus is God the same way I believe every Human being is God. We all have a divine light God put in as when he created us in His image.
We all have the same potential to be God as Christ was if we allow ourselves to be. We are called to be like Christ in every way.
Lust is not premarital sex, masturbation, or sexual thoughts. The sin of lust is rape, sexual assault, pedophelia.
Wrath is not being angry at someone when they harm you, or wanting truly evil people to be laid low. The sin of wrath is murder, racism, xenophobia.
Gluttony is not enjoying eating, even when you are full, or feasting with friends in celebration even to excess. The sin of gluttony is taking when others have nothing, eating while others starve, consuming while others waste away.
Sin is not enjoying in the pleasures and good things that God made for us to experience, but rather twisting those goods to be evil.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I think the ideal religious practice is one that makes you act better in your everyday life. Knowing all of the scriptures or epithets is good, but you should really be focusing on bettering yourself as a part of your religion.
Knowing all of Jesus' parables is nice, but do you actually stand up for your community? Do you love your neighbor? Understanding the metaphysics of your pagan practice is good, but do you go out of your way to avoid littering? Do you pick up litter in your local natural area? Are you kind to the earth? It's cool that you can list all of Zeus' epithets but do you practice Xenia? Do you donate to important causes? Do you set boundaries for yourself but also give whenever you can?
Gods don't just enter our lives to teach us about themselves, but to teach us how to be better people. Incorporating good deeds and genuine kindness into your religious practice isn't just nice, it's kind of the whole point
I'm okay with lighter skinned Jesus but strictly in the context of that its the same thing as any other culture depicting Him in their own ethnicity, NOT a white nationalism way that hushes ethnic accuracy in order to push a racist agenda via religion.

Just remembered that one time I told my dad about how I was reading St. Theresa of Avila’s autobiography and felt bad about how hard she was on herself. I said that I wished I could’ve been there to encourage her and let her know she had done a lot of good and difficult things, and that it was ok for her to be proud of herself. Then he said, “Well you can, you can pray for her.”
And it just… I love that. I love how as someone raised Catholic I believe that saints are our brothers and sisters whose souls are alive in Christ. And that we can talk to them, pray for them, and ask them to pray for us. I think that’s such an interesting and spiritual connection people can have.
if christians were half as concerned with war and poverty as they are with sexual morality, we'd have world peace within the decade and wealth inequality would become a distant memory.

Been having a lot of thoughts about being queer and religious and how I feel like I don’t truly belong in either group but can’t dwell on that cause
1. It puts me in a rough spot mentally and
2. I have finals right now and I’m about to get my associates’ degree.
But I would like to talk about it more when my life slows down a bit. My thoughts feel pretty crazy and jumbled right now, and I think talking about it and asking for advice would straighten things out in my brain.
So… stay tuned for that I guess 👍
