Oh no, I know that meme very well. You're just using the template wrong.
See, the whole point is to show that when you strip all the propaganda, both sides are kind of the same. You're supposed to keep the descriptors hyperbolic, yet vague. It's a way to mock hypocrisy.
But if you list out the actual arguments (canon vs. queerbait, Gundam's legacy and influence vs. Supernatural's, etc.) and put them side by side like that, it kind of undermines the point you're trying to make, and I'm just seeing some pretty reasonable explanations to go with Sulemio.
But meme template misuse aside, I'd say the reason for the finals being so lopsided can e attributed to a number of different elements all coming together to form a perfect storm. There are those who are sick of the Destiel meme and are protest voting, which, okay, valid. There are those who might know the characters but want to see women win (also valid). And @demilypyro rallying the troops also must be acknowledged (love you, girl!)
But beyond that, I think this final is indicative of a real changing of the guard in this site's culture. People are tired of so many of the top ships kind of looking the same. People are tired of queerbaiting. And, let's face it, there's a reason for Supernatural's infamy. Fifteen seasons, Castiel around for eleven of them, the writing crew clearly knew how popular the ship was and teased it constantly, Misha himself openly supported it, every reason in the world to pull the trigger, only for...
Meanwhile, you have Witch from Mercury. The latest Gundam show, which is one of the biggest and most influential franchises of all time, so it's not some niche thing that can slip under the radar. And despite being made in a comparatively more homophobic country than Supernatural (gay marriage isn't even legal in Japan), despite their parent company trying to cut them off atbthe knees both before and after (seriously, shit got wild), they still threw doen the gauntlet and said, "Our main characters are GAY (well, Suletta may be bi, but that's a topic for another day) and they are going to get GAY MARRIED!" and have the show end with them unambiguously gay married? I think that touched a nerve. That's the sort of thing that can actually cause change and set a precedent.
And for what it's worth, I do get why Destiel is so popular. I understand the appeal, respect the fans' passion, and feel that you guys got done dirty. And hey, six days is a long time. Maybe things will swing back the other way, and if it does, I'll accept our defeat with grace. This is the Destiel webbed site, after all.
But win or lose, I do think this poll is indicative of a real paradigm shift, one that's going to continue to grow.
