I was today years old when i realized that the reason why Oda made one of X Drake's hobbies Astrophysics is probably because of famous astrophysicist/astrobiologist Frank Drake. Frank Drake is known for starting the SETI (search for extraterrestrial intelligence) experiment. To that end, he's known for the Drake Equation (an equation that attempts to estimate the number of planets in the universe which may have intelligent life) and for having helped design the Pioneer plaque, the voyager golden record, and the Arecibo message which are all attempts to reach out and connect to potential extraterrestrial life.
