Am I the only person that is extremely interested in Valec? Like I’m almost 100% sure he knows something that almost nobody else in the series knows but I have no clue what it is 😭 I just find it weird how he knows “Erebus”, the Shadow King mentioned him when he was first talking to Bree, he can Mesmer people (we moved on from that one way to quickly), and made it a point to search for both Bree and Sel equally (almost like he knew that Selwyn was just as important as Bree when it came to lineage). He also knows and used to work for/with Daeza (and apparently so did Natasia so I’m also convinced they knew each other in some type of way)? Not to mention that he’s one of a few sets of balanced cambions? Does he know any more? Can he live forever? I NEED ANSWERS TRACEY

Like I mentioned in my earlier post, life is really kicking my butt rn with work, travels, conventions and my very own first apartment (!!) to name a few things that have kept me busy busy for quite a while now. I have also been semi-struck with artblock/lack of confidence in my art, but I think my newly aquired obsession with 'Project Hail Mary' (and seeing all the stunning fanart of it) made me realize that the issue might have been less that I was lacking confidence, and more so that I was growing bored of my up-til-now determination of "only" drawing actual moments from the books as they are written!
With this one (which I have also been trying to draw before multiple times without being properly happy with it) I decided to try and go as insane with it as I could, and I'm REALLY happy with how it turned out 😗🫶💕 I also tried to lean even more into picking contrasting and bold colors off the color wheel, and I'm just??? Yea no I hope this one was worth the wait 🫶🫶
I hope to find more time to draw this summer, but I'm gonna try to focus on coming up with fun ideas and concepts rather than the kind of "quantity over quality" mindset I've had til now. I feel that I have gotten to the point with my skills that it's a lot more specific technical stuff that needs practice rather than just "drawing time" in general, if that makes sense?
