fic where prime convinces jason that they have to kiss to preserve the fabric of reality and of course it spirals uncontrollably deeper until prime has Fucked Up Big time. maybe it doesn’t start with a kiss it starts with prime like butting in on a mission or something with jason and finally hes like “weeeeeellllll in most universes where you push me away the building blows up which dominos into earth being totally obliterated by zombies😬” and hes totally talking out of his ass and Jason is aware but he lets him tag along just to leash him and then they find out there actually IS a bomb and it almost kills Jason but prime saves him and jason starts wondering if maybe he Was telling the truth and thennnn it keeps spiraling and like the next time is another mission like that one and then the one after prime convinces jason they have to fake date for an undercover mission (ends up working surprisingly well) and blah blah blah they all keep happening like that and jason and prime are slowly but surely actually falling into real love but prime is also feeling increasingly guiltier and tim is always mad because “that guy is NOT REAL jason HES LYING!!!!!!!!!” and jason 100% knows prime is talking out of his ass but he keeps playing this game bc prime is hot and it makes tim mad so #winwin

i love when fanfics highlight the jaybin "i chose not to save him" and batman "thats as good as killing him" situation with felipe garzonas ESPECIALLY when bruce chose not to save jason after slicing his throat open and the building explodes so jason just 100% believes that bruce supports that loophole and therefore jason believes that bruce knew he would be attempting to kill jason by choosing not to save him
Jason Todd was never inherently angry or happy or any other emotion. He's not attached to any singular emotion.
He's not the happy or angry Robin. He's the emotional Robin.
Everything Jason ever did, as Robin, as Red Hood, as Jason, was based on how he felt. He's been desperate, he's been happy, he's been angry, and his actions reflected all of these. Most characters only "lash out" when they're emotions are very intense. That's why you assume Jason is just really angry, but he's not. Jason doesn't get consumed by his emotions, he doesn't wait for them to burst, nor does he redirect them or try to replace them with something more helpful. He just acts. If he's angry, he acts on that right away, even if he shouldn't. If he's happy, then he acts on that straight away too.
That's why he crashed so badly with Bruce when he was Robin. Bruce bottles up emotions and tries to ignore them, while Jason does the exact opposite, he expresses them the second he feels them. Neither is exactly healthy, but they were both to stubborn and not used to the others way enough to try and understand how the other thought. Neither were really at fault, neither were trying to hurt the other. It's like trying to mix oil and water, there are some processes that can help combine them, but if you just pour them in together, then it won't work. And neither Bruce or Jason knew how to or were willing to lean outside of what they know enough to be able to enact those processes.
This also why a lot of Jason's actions will sometimes have contradicting goals or results, especially during the early days of Red Hood since that caused a lot of complicated emotions. It's why he destroyed so much, instead of just enacting a strategic plan against the bats. It's why he's somewhat unpredictable. It's what Talia used to manipulate him, because instead of asking for evidence or questioning what she said, he reacted straight away to how it made him feel.

the thing i like most about primehood is the fact that clark is cannonically obsessed with red hood (me too) and jason has never met this guy and probably has zero intention to
recently ive been reading more jason stuff and i noticed how often we get to know him through other people's narrations/thought boxes instead of his own, we know more what other people think of him than what he thinks in general
which leads me to prime obsessing over one of the few characters he can't read. like, he actually can't read jason, so he ends up hyperfixated on him trying to catch a sliver of a thought or anything
like he can read ahead and know other superheroes from reading their comics but he can't do that with jason and it itches at him, he needs to know what he's thinking, no one can accurately read that man and prime should be able to! where's his narration and inner monologue? where's his thought bubbles with actual real information and not just a hidden quip or complaint???
anyway,i was telling my roommate about this and she told me "so jason is prime's bella swan" and i needed to tell you this specifically because it ruined and made my night
i brought this up in a different but similar way on twitter once... let's find it...
here we go. it's not the same at all to what you said, but it's like, close enough, right? either way, prime likes jason on his own not just because of Everything Else but because there's something about him that makes him FEEL more real. he can't get a grasp on that dude like he can with everyone else, which makes him attracted to him.
in any case i think it's extremely funny to bring up bella. i think another friend of mine said they were twilight coded. i don't personally enjoy twilight and i probably never will but i Get it. this person is the one i cannot crack. i cannot understand him. frankly while i appreciate the people who treat primehood as yet another flavor of superbat i disagree. this is a ship composed of a guy who was killed at a young age and the guy who broke the universe to bring him back.
the correct dynamic of primehood (to me) is a saint and his god.
