on transgender day of visibility
Remember those who can’t be visible.
Remember those who have been visible, and paid the price.
Remember those who are kept invisible by a violently transphobic, transmisogynistic society.
Remember our invisible trans siblings.
Amedeo Bocchi - Melancholy
i can’t believe i have to say this on my blog, but if you are a farmhand, please don’t leave your sacks of hulled barley where the varmints can get to them… it’s that simple

“maybe the means of production was inside us, all along”
The real means of production was the friends we made along the way
Something I really hate right now: cis describing being trans as "trendy" and talking about how "suddenly" everyone is coming out because it's the "new thing". like... OR. MAYBE. More trans people finally feel comfortable/safe coming out and living their lives since we're literally giving people awards now for being out. Maybe greater visibility in the media and increased access to information has helped people who struggled with their gender to finally put the pieces together. There are tons of trans people who didn't know that transition was possible or a thing that people did until very recently. And yeah. Sure. Maybe there are a few people out there who are just hopping onto the trans train (choo choo!) because more and more celebrities are coming out. But if their attachment to their birth-assigned gender is so minor that they are comfortable and happy living as another gender, wouldn't that more-or-less make them part of the genderqueer community anyway? Isn’t that pretty non-cisnormative of them? What does it matter if they specifically call themselves trans, genderfluid, non-binary, or whatever else?
