I can't believe this month is already almost over! It always goes so fast!!! 😭😭😭 But I've loved seeing everyone's gorgeous mermaids in my feed!

Today's mermaydg2024 theme on Instagram is Grand FIN-ale. What better way to end Mermay and partake in today's theme than by unveiling a doll I've wanted for quite some time?

I'm talking about Melody, the daughter of Ariel and Eric, and the only child of any Disney princess to this day (Descendants doesn't count lol)!

The Disney Store hasn't made this doll even though they have the ability to do so thanks to the smaller bodies used on Alice, Wendy, and Tinkerbell, but I'm still waiting. An official doll was released when the movie came out in 2000, but she looked nothing like the character. I had her in my hands in person, wanting to get her, and I was so disappointed with how she looked that I left her on the shelf.

So I took it upon myself to create my very own Melody! She currently doesn't have her mermaid tail, but I hope to have that before the movie's 25th anniversary next year. Click here to see the behind the scenes process!

It's finally done! The little sequence that turned into a fanfic is now illustrated as I wanted on the first place.

Every time I visualized this sequence in my head, I always pictured it with this music playing in the background, but only from 1:33 to 1:48, and if you slow it down to x 0.75, it'll sound the closest to how I imagined it.

Drawing this took me a ridiculous amount of time, mostly due to having so little time to work on it because of school, that and because I'm not really skilled when it comes to digital art. But it was an enjoyable experience despite everything (making the fire was so much fun! And experimenting with the brushes was a lot of fun as well.)

Now that I finished this, I can work on the next chapter of "You Are What Gives Color To the World". I hope you like this little angsty comic 😈
