some more thoughts/questions re: season restructure (and im just going to go with the schedule jackie wong posted)

a) skaters already struggle with getting to worlds in march if worlds is in april it would make it even worse, plus the new gp structure also means a completely new training structure because the rhythm of the season would be completely different with the need to have several peaks and less of a building of momentum instead of a clear cut gp season in the fall and champion ship season in the new year

b) isu cant find a host for 4cc next season but wants to add more comps (i assume they would want the semis to have rotating hosts like gpf, good luck with that)

c) in a similar vain at this very congress where isu talks about adding comps feds have noted that hosting comps actively loses them money, again good luck finding host feds (also combined worlds even if only once a quad makes this even more questionable)

d) i think the gp as it currently exists as a tight six weeks of gps one week off and the (j)gpf is a really excellent format from a viewers perspective actually

e) similar to skaters training rhythm the clear temporal distinction between gps in the fall and championships in the new year makes total sense for viewers as well, these changes would muddle the two together and for what

f) building on that: the calculating of points for who qualifies for gpf is fun (to me at least) and spreading the gp over three month (and then three more month until the actual final) would make it less exciting, instead it would be a slog to wait until the gp is over, gp events are already so much shorter than other events imagine if there are like two weeks between the gps any momentum (for both viewers and skaters) would be gone

The worst part is that Alex always makes him wait.  Whether he’s coming to her flat in Monaco, or just a few floors up to her hotel room - it doesn’t matter.
