Our #capclassique50in50 continues with a visit to @delheimwines. Recently we had the pleasure of tasting and sampling, (OK, it was a whole glass full🥂) of Delheim’s Blanc de Blancs Brut. Harvested from Chardonnay grapes from a vineyard named “Akkerboom” on Delheim, the vines being approximately 20 years old and low-yielding. The grapes were whole bunch pressed in crates which allowed for a more delicate extraction and therefore an elegant mousse. Granny Smith apple notes with citrus and sweet tropical fruit on the nose with a rich, creamy complexity on the palate makes this a fresh and elegant Cap Classique and paired perfectly with ‘Pork three ways’ for lunch at their Garden Restaurant.
