As per his new assignment, he has to travel to an orphanage in Marsyas Island where 6 dangerous students reside and their caretaker Arthur, who can do anything to protect these children. Linus must evaluate them and decide on the future of both, the orphanage and the kids. As soon as he enters the orphanage, his beliefs and his way of looking at things change, which in turn changes his life. A lot of secrets get exposed as Linus and Arthur come close. The children have extraordinary abilities but are still looking for love and compassion. The story is enchanting and the writing style of the author is commendable. The plot, characters, magic, humour everything is brilliantly narrated and kept me interested till the end. I loved everything about this book. It was funny, cute, emotional, magical and engaging. All the characters were amazing and the story was enjoyable. Though Anna is reluctant at first, she tries to dig up more into the mystery after knowing that the woman was her friend from college. Detective Jack Harper who is investigating the murder is suspicious of Anna but later becomes a suspect himself. Both Anna and Jack are lying about a lot of things related to the murder. As the story progresses with more murders with Jack's increasing suspicion of Anna it unravels a lot of mystery and secrets from their tangled past that makes it fascinating throughout. The story has a lot of mystery, suspense, thrill, twists and turns which keeps the readers engrossed till the end. The characters were unique, disturbing and twisted. The plot is so interesting that I couldn't put the book down. I had suspected almost every character since the beginning of the story and then the mystery was finally solved I was amazed. I couldn't have guessed the culprit for the suspense is maintained brilliantly till the very end. This was an amazing thriller with the perfect blend of mystery, suspense and twists. She is not as powerful as her father or her siblings until one day she discovers the powers of witchcraft that is within her. Zeus who is threatened by her growing abilities banishes her to a deserted island where she becomes more powerful. She comes across many ruthless gods and mortals while on the island which changes her life. She endures so much since her birth yet she remains strong and determined that I couldn't help but be impressed with her. Staying alone on a deserted island where several fierce mortals can roam around is very dangerous even for a goddess who is powerless but the way she handled all of it was delightful. This story is very emotional and it will keep the readers engaged till the end. I couldn't keep the book down and enjoyed each bit of it. This story mentions so many gods that I got confused at the beginning but as the story progressed, it became all clear. I loved the way Circe fought with the monsters and even a few Gods to save her loved ones. I loved this story but felt the ending was a bit rushed. 🅱🅾🅾🅺 🆁🅴🆅🅸🅴🆆: 𝙈𝙚𝙙𝙪𝙨𝙖 Author: Rosie Hewlett Ratings: ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5/5 This is my first time reading Greek mythology and from everything I have heard, Medusa is always shown in a negative role and is perceived as a monster. This book however is written from Medusa's perspective which helps everyone understand the truth that nobody wants to listen to and is hidden from everyone. This story takes us from Medusa's birth till her death and afterwards. Everything from her POV which makes it very pragmatic. The story shows the injustices that happened to her, the reason for her becoming a monster, her sufferings, pain, sacrifices, her relationship with her family, her death and beyond. The story is narrated beautifully and all the characters were strong and bold. The relationship of Medusa with her sisters and her friendship with Perseus was precious. The story is fast-paced with brilliant characters and an excellent plotline that kept me hooked throughout even though this is my first Greek mythology book. I loved Medusa's character and her story is heart-wrenching. I felt very angry at Athena and Poseidon for everything they have done to Medusa and I loved how, despite the struggles and injustices, Medusa remained strong and brazen. I'm so glad to have read this book. I can't wait to read more books by the author and also on Greek mythology. I loved this retelling and it's highly recommended for everyone who loves this genre. Soon Alice makes friends with neighbours and finds out about the murder that took place in the very same house she is living in now. Nina, the therapist was apparently murdered by her husband and Leo even after knowing the truth lied to Alice. Both Leo and Alice feel someone's presence in their home all the time and Alice's obsession with the name Nina makes her inquisitive about the murder. The more Alice talks to the neighbours about the murder the more convinced she becomes that Nina was not murdered by her husband. She wants to find out what exactly happened to Nina and this obsession makes her doubt everyone in the community. The story starts very slow and it picks up pace towards the ending. Alice's was a very confused character and she could be easily manipulated by anyone. She becomes so obsessed with finding the truth that she misses a few obvious clues around her that could lead to the murderer. Her constant questioning of the neighbours at some point becomes a bit irritating and repetitive. The twist at the end was very good and surprising but apart from that, it was an ok read for me. The main character itself was a big disappointment in this story and the plot could have been a lot better. I couldn't enjoy this as much as I expected but I do not dislike it either. This story is about Russia's campaign to undermine and defeat democracy in western Europe and the US through various conspiracies. The story starts with the death of the wealthy Russian dissident Victor Orlov in his London home by exposure to a nerve agent which was transferred to him via some documents apparently brought by a journalist who is suspected to be working with Russians. And Gabriel Allon, who owes his life to Orlov for his own team to unsolve the mystery behind Orlov's death. The author's knack for storytelling is amazing and the characters are portrayed really well. I really liked the Cellist's role and her strong character. The author has mixed some of the recent events and things like money laundering, covid, international espionage etc into the story brilliantly. Some of the scenes had me on the edge of my seat. Even though this was my first book from this series I had no difficulty grasping the story. The plot was very intriguing with amazing twists and turns. Overall it was a very captivating story. Can't wait to read more of this author's books. On her way, she gets a mysterious, anonymous note through which the writer asks her to solve the mystery of her sister's death which happened decades ago. The writer who goes by the name Hannah believes her sister Jenny was murdered and wants Rachel's help to find out the murderer. Although Rachel creeps out and is reluctant at first in taking up this matter, she eventually starts digging more into the past to find out about Hannah's sister's death. Rachel focuses on both the cases together and it's interesting to see if these cases have anything in common and if Rachel be successful in solving both cases. This story shows us the reality of how society treats rape victims and the mental agony they go through during the trial. It was not an easy read but very emotional, dark and the writing style of the author was very captivating that it hooked me till the end. The plot in itself was very enthralling and I loved Rachel's strong character. I was very curious since the beginning to find out who Hannah is and the suspense was maintained very well till the very end. I felt connected to both Jenny and Kelly's stories and their pain and I was just hoping throughout the story that justice prevails and the person is found guilty at the end. I loved the way the author has portrayed the characters and the rape trial. Madeline's ex-husband is back in her life which creates more trouble than she expected. Jane, a single mother whose child is accused of something he has not done. And there is Celeste who pretends her life is perfect but nobody knows what is going on in her life. All of them have their kids entering kindergarten in the same year which makes their lives connected in some way. There is an incident of murder during the trivia night in the Kindergarten and we don't know who got murdered or who did it until the very end. The story takes us back to the lives of these women before the trivia night. The story is woven in such a way that it keeps you on edge till the end. It's very funny, dramatic with a huge number of characters and a lot of twists and mystery. All the characters were portrayed brilliantly and all the characters were likeable and were given equal importance. The whole murder mystery part is very fascinating to read and there at some scenes which make you laugh like crazy. I literally couldn't stop myself from laughing at a point. The story also focuses on sensitive issues like the challenges of single parents, domestic violence etc which added an interesting touch to the story. And the mystery part was unpredictable and I was flabbergasted when I reached that part. I loved all the characters in this story and the lot was enthralling and it kept me hooked till the end. This is the first book I have read from this author and I really enjoyed reading this. The characters were beautifully portrayed and I really liked the characters of Chloe's friends. The story is narrated very well and it takes about the importance of friendship, emotions, love, romance, mental illness and much more. This book focuses more on friendship than romance which makes it different from other romance books. And the surprise gift of Chloe makes the story a lot more interesting. Overall a great effort for a debut author. Not the worst read but this just didn't work for me. James, a minister is charged with rape charges by his colleague and it turns into a scandal overnight. The story follows the legal drama that takes place in the courtroom. Sophie, his wife is convinced that he is innocent and wants to protect him. Kate, a prosecutor who follows the truth always is very sure that James is guilty. Who is right about James? Will Sophie be able to save her husband from the allegations and save her marriage? What made Kate so confident about James being guilty? Will Kate succeed in putting him behind bars? The story has multiple POV's but mainly of Kate and Sophie. Everybody has some secrets that will unravel eventually but the twist in the story was missing the thrill part. It's a very slow-paced narration and I felt it kind of dragged at some point which could have been avoided. And the writing did not make that impact on me. The twist in the story was predictable and I didn't like the ending much. It would have been a lot better. This is my first book from the author and I absolutely loved this story. I loved the strong and determined character of Lena throughout the story. Everything is fine until a tragic incident put their relationship at risk. Will Saanvi be heartbroken or will it be a happy ending for them? It was a very good attempt for a debut author. The story was narrated brilliantly and each of the characters had depth and were portrayed really well. Although the protagonists in the story were poles apart, the love between them is wonderful. The romance between them is shown beautifully I loved all the characters in the story and even though it was quite predictable I enjoyed it a lot. The story was decent and intriguing and the language was simple and lucid. I loved the way this book has included not only the journey of Mr Vasu Shroff but also gives the readers guidance about how to start, where to start, how to believe in yourself and so many valuable tips from his experience. This book is a great motivation for everyone and it will help you positively change your life and make you instantly like Vasu Shroff. Not able to let go of the incident she finds herself in the memorial service of Amanda and gets to know her close friends and eventually become friends with them. With the arrival of Cassandra and Jane into her life, Shay's life takes a 360-degree turn and she can do anything to get them to like her. But everything feels too good to be true and unbeknownst to Shay, she is being misled into some dangerous circumstances by a bunch of people. After reading the Wife between us by the authors I had a great expectation from this book but I couldn't enjoy it as much as I did the other book. I expected a sting and bold FC but Shay was kinda stupid and could be manipulated by anyone. Her character was not much likeable and even the other characters lacked depth which was quite disappointing. And also the story was very predictable from the beginning and there were no big surprising twists in it. It was a decent read but I expected a lot more. But with her troublesome past, she is not ready to move to her hometown but had to because of her job. Will she be able to cover the story and solve the mystery? Or will the past get in her way? The story follows her investigations, some dark, creepy and cringe-worthy scenes, few revelations that keep the readers engaged throughout. All the characters were equally disturbing and the storyline was very fascinating. Camille's character was portrayed really well and I loved her strong yet flawed character in this story. Few of the scenes were very disturbing and the twists and turns in the story were just amazing. I couldn't have guessed the culprit until the end which was equally shocking and exciting. This story has a great plot and twists that every thriller lover would enjoy. Highly recommend it to all those who enjoy reading thriller books.
